And I believe he will, should he... 1. Fight the winner of Dubois-Paker 2. Fight the winner of Zhang-Kabeyel 3. Fight the winner of Bakole-Ajagba 4. Fight a returning Klitschko 5. Reduce to one heavyweight belt and take an easy fight 6. Fight Beterbiev 7. Return to cruiser 8. Try Bridgerweight 9. Retire 10. Other (please specify)
Assuming Dubois beats Parker he should fight the Kabayel/Zhang winner. If Parker beats Dubois he should fight Parker. Despite being his 8th HW fight Dubois would be his 3rd pair of rematches. He needs to fight someone new. Zhangs about to turn 42 and if he wins thats his 2nd interim belt. If Kabayel wins thats his 10th 12 rounder hes won. They've been waiting long enough. If Parker wins though after Dubois last 2 fights he is clearly the guy. But if Parker beats Dubois they might do a rematch. As surprised as I'd be if Parker won I'd be even more suprised if he won in such a manner they wouldn't do a rematch.
He should fight the real champ Pulev for the WBA Regular belt. Should pack in a soccer stadium in Sofia
There's nobody worth fighting at HW now as this generation is old and so many are shot or semi-shot. Even Parker seems chinnier than he was. I don't see what he really gains except risking a loss to a B fighter. The only other fighter worth fighting would have been Wilder if it was a few years ago before Wilder got too old, but it never happened and now it's lost merit obviously. I think the Beterbiev fight is the most interesting, actually. I'd like to see Usyk KO Beterbiev. Beterbiev seems overconfident in that matchup, probably because he hurt Usyk a few times in that amateur fight, but Usyk is a different fighter now and I think much more powerful.
Fight Beterbiev at cruiserweight limit for the true p4p supremacy. Obviously Artur himself has his hands full with te Bivol rematch.
I want the Fury-Usyk winner to fight the Zhang-Kabayel winner because any combination of those fighters makes for an intriguing stylistic clash (and I like all 4 of those guys a lot) - but the most realistic possibility is that Usyk retires afterwards, as he has nothing left to prove and he retires as a very wealthy man.
Agreed but there is still quite alot of people that feel Dubois scored a legit body shot knockdown and that Usyk was a bit lucky he had time to recover. So it would be good if Usyk could erase some doubt there, but yeah I am a bit tired of all the rematches aswell so in a ideal world a new challenger would be perfect.
He has absolutely nothing left to prove and no one else to beat if he wins. No doubt his management and promoters want some more of that mountain of saudi money that is swishing around heavyweight boxing at the moment but he really should resist.
I agree. Like I've said Dubois has a weak lineal case because of that. A rematch by itself isn't outrageous its just the situation.
Dubois-Parker Zhang-kaybel Then retire a true legend. If he wins tonight and those 2 fights? Even his harshest critics including me will have to acknowledge his greatness My opinion of the era will still stand, but him cleaning up all close to 40 deserves props
If Parker beats Dubois, then Parker. Otherwise the winner of Zhang vs Kabeyel. He already beat Dubois. Dubois is a paper champ no need to fight him again.
