after the tourney..it was a close fight, i know consensus is that Usyk clearly won, but their have been rematches for fights that weren't as close as this.?
Usyk already clearly won the fight. Usyk beats him more clearly this time. What is the point of this thread?
Why "should" any fighter be expected give a rematch to opponent who they have beaten, the opponent on fight night lost, was not good enough to win etc etc. Now if the opponent becomes mandatory contender yes 100 per cent rematch, or if the winning fighter themselves chooses to rematch their defeated opponent then fair enough, but no fighter "should" be expected to give rematches.
Its being pretty darn hard to impress if the rationale is that a Breidis rematch was way better and more warranted than the Bellew fight. But other than that Usyk is not a dude to criticise for much of anything. I actually like the idea of a rematch in a year or two should Breidis go that way. I prefer he stay at CW kinda.
