I mean gold medal, undisputed cruiser and now took undisputed heavyweight in 25 years after not being considered in the race at one point. He has a style that doesnt age well, is 37 years old, already looks a tad slower and it will be sad to see him getting beat up by guys he would have schooled a few years ago The guy basically finished a dream by winning yesterday. Should he continue on and risk ending up like RJJ at the time or retire now or maybe 1/2 more fights?
He is 37 which is pretty much the absolute upper limit for a fighter who relies on speed. He's already past his prime, but still has enough to rule the division. If he was a power boxer like Beterbiev I'd say he should fight on until 40. But Usyk's style is the type to get rapidly old overnight.
He totally should. With the way he was avoided by Fury for a couple of years, now being past prime and having accomplished such incomprehensible things, he would do himself a favour by retiring with all the marbles and moving on to different goals. Something tells me he's the kind of guy who will have trouble staying away though.
Retire. Already done it. In his next fight he will be 38. Don't forget Usyk is born January. He is 37.5 already. This was his last good performance, and he looked way past it to me. I see very worrying sign of Usyk. He was not the same fighter he was in AJ 1 and 2. He is still and always will be better than Fury. Can you imagine 35 years old Usyk vs 37.5 years old Fury? Muhahhahahah that won't be a contest at all.
He already have more than 100+m. And going on that line, he will than have another 50+m. against AJ, and then another 50+m. against someone else. Till when? If he was 34-35 yeah sure, but he is solid done. Retire while on top and that's it.
No. He didn't need anything else. This 2 defenses won't add anything to his resume. He already beat the 2 best at division. He can't clean the whole division, and he will be 38 by his next fight, big time past it. And Fury is prolly retiring, listening to what Frank Warren is saying.
