Should Vitali Klitschko pass on a title defense and simply retire?

Folks, we need to leave Lennox Lewis alone. The man is retired.. Let Lewis be... And, since the division is shallow, I believe Vitali Klitschko should ring in the New Year by announcing his full retirement from boxing and go out a real winner... Vitali Klitschko is famous and his legacy is secure... Peace..:yep

If Lenox says "NO", which we all know he will and Wlad goes after Valuev, I think you will be right:thumbsup :thumbsup

They will remember the Lenox fight, the comeback after 4 years off to beat the #2 man in the division and the brothers making history as belt holders at the same time. Vitali WILL be remembered :thumbsup

Yeah, Lewis has been retired for a long time and already beat Vitali fair and square. Even if Lewis comes back and fights again, he's clearly not going to be what he was even when he did fight Vitali.

I think he should maybe retire. But really, I think the division isn't totally clean until Valuev, Haye, Povetkin and Chagaev are taken care of.

Even two years older than Oscar, Vitali makes it look easy so why quit now?

Why the hell should he retire? He's the #1 HW in the world.

He should take Valuev's belt and then take turns with little bro defending against all comers.

If only each brother would agree to fight twice a year... not too much to ask... we would have a significant HW title fight every 3 months!

And if either brother lost = instant mega-unification bout with the other bro!

I know,,, and then I woke up. This is boxing!

Why is the highlight of his career getting busted up by an old man in Lewis? Because he simply hasn't done much, Wlad will be the one remembered not Vitaly who will simply be the coulda, woulda, shoulda guy. Now if he were to beat Valuev and defend his title 4 or more times then maybe you would have something but as of now even Ruiz and Byrd are more accomplished at HW than he is.

    Nope, his legacy isn't "secure".
Some even say his "legacy" would be a joke if he retired right now, and although I don't completely agree, they HAVE a point.
I like Vitali, BUT he needs to fight lets say Valuev, and beat one or two top contenders in the division, before retiring.
THAT would secure his legacy, not retiring right now.
    IMO.

Okay... Well, I still say "Forget" about fighting Lenny Lewis altogether.. So, to me, that leaves either re-hashed Andy Golota, who I am partial to, or fight WBA Chump Nick Valuev.... Either way, I see ONLY TWO real decent options there for Vitali Klitschko at the moment... I don't care to see V.K. fight any of these "Puppies" like Chris Arreola, David Haye, Juan C. Gomez or Olly Solis.... NOPE! Not interested at all about them matches....

As for Vitali Klitschko's legacy, well, he does have a legacy.. It may not be like "Ali" or "Foreman," but it's a legacy.... YES! "Lewis-Klit" from 2003 is a classic heavyweight title bout of the 21 st century... That fight will be remembered over the years... Peace....:tong

He should get his second title, the WBA, then retire if he feels he has no more to do.
