Should Vitali Klitschko pass on a title defense and simply retire?

He could retire but I think he should keep fighting, I don't see anyone in the division beating him.

If he's healthy and still has the ability, why retire? A true champ defends his title and there are a few interesting fights for him out there. If he doesn't plan to defend the title then he shouldn't hold it hostage.

I really don't consider V.K. old at age 37, but he is NOT a Spring chicken, either... Also, can V.K. maintain his focus and desire to train hard if his furure opponents / victims are "Low" grade?? I wanna see "Top" level performances from V.K., or basically, he can retire... None of this "Half-Assed" bullcrap.... Cheers....:nono

No. Vitlai still has plenty left. He should fight on. Valuev, Lewis, or Toney is who I want to see him fight next.

    :good Agree.

Get Valuev in the ring, unify his title with the WBA, then bow out.

It'd be such a shame to retire when he is so dominant over everyone else, even COLD and inactive, he's still head and shoulders above the rest.

Cash in a bit more on what he has left in the tank, get that last belt, then go out on top.

I'm catching a buzz and reviewing "Lewis-Ruddock" from 1992...... Christ, Lenny Lewis looks thin at roughly 227 pounds.... BUT! Lewis owned a WICKED right hand...

I want Vitlai to fight 3 more times. He can fight two more times in 2009, and once in 2010.

    Get Valuev's belt.

Offer Lewis or Byrd a re-match, but take the Lewis match 1st if Lewis wants it.

Then fight one more time vs a name fighter.

Of coruse he would win all three matches.

Then he could retire at 39-2, with 38 KO'S!

Hell no, he just owned Sam Peter, something his little brother couldnt do against a much younger and greener Sam Peter 3 years ago. Vitali has proved to me, and many others out there, he's still the best Heavyweight in the world.

Offer Chris Byrd a rematch? Why?? Byrd is cooked these days... His 2000 win over V.K. was a fluke..... Klit shoots the Byrd down in 2009... Jesus, not even a contest...:admin

Rubbish. For boxrec-jockeys perhaps, for anyone with a knowledge of boxing will remember Vitaly as a great fighter.

Wlad is a cheap copy (albeit the best outside of Vitaly).

WTF ??? After going through all the troubles of trying to get back into the ring in 4 years . . . suddenly retirement?

    That move doesn't makes sense.
