Or continue to waste everyone's time, like he has ever since the Sanders fight?

    Yes.

He's a mid 30s fighter who had to postpone/cancel 5 straight times, even after time away from the sport. That tells you where his body is at.

It can't take the rigors of prizefighting anymore.

Has the time come for Vitali to walk away (or lean backwards) from boxing?

Well...I think he's risking some hefty long-term damage by repeatedly trying to get his body to do what it seems it's no longer capable of. The final call always has to be his though, and he seems resolute about carrying on.

If he was to have just one more injury though, I think even he would call it quits.

Yes I believe Vitali should retire. At his age and size he will be prone to injuries while training for the rest of his life I think.
    Vitali should stay retired IMO.

It's obvious that he no longer has the health to box, and it's obvious that he also has the intelligence and the will to help make a difference in the world in matters other than pugilistica. For those reasons, I should hope he stays retired. If he comes back and ends up with a permanent injury, or punch drunk, then it will kill his chances to earn a non-boxing legacy. At this point in his career, he should stick to democratizing the Ukraine.

Yes, he should retire, and I feel that he's intelligent enough to do that very thing, being realistic about his not to sturdy body. He risks having his stock drop by getting hurt and losing a fight because of it, plus he'll never really be 100% confident.

Probably. He's such a determined guy, though, that it is no surprise that he fights this like he does.

Part of me doesnt want him to retire. Part of me wants him to at the very least validate his high regard by winning a big fight. By winning the title in the ring against a champion. On the other hand Part of me (as bad as it sounds) wants him to go out on a loss, a KO loss. Why?

Simple so we can have closure. So we dont lean on the edge waiting for yet another return to the ring and get a Sopranos like ending.

There is a reason why Mike Tyson wasnt thoroughly missed when he walked away from the sport. Because he went out on poor showing against a journeyman. Nobody sane claims that Tyson will come back and rule the division. Vitaly's who MO was to have the titles at the same time with Wlad will likely hinder the unification process. Fight and win or fight and lose so that we can start focusing on our current underappreciated 2nd tier talent.

Bottom line I dont want him to retire he's flaked out of 5 fights legitimate or not. Though I do feel sorry for him to the extent that his career is unfullfilled I want a decisive ending so make it thru training camp and fight.

Vitali should stop wasting the fans time and the other fighters he was suppose to fight, the division dont need a another broken down fighter the ring.

If Vitali decided to make his comeback because he really wanted it, then he can't stop now. I was very sceptical about his comeback, but now I say, he needs to go on. If his body will fail him again, it will be ridiculous and pathetic. But I think it's not neccessarily wrong to risk that. As fragile as he is, he wants to fight the winner of Maskaev vs. Peter - crazy or gutsy?
