Should Ward be allowed to pin his opponents with his head?

clich and head ! this **** me off because Ward got talent so he wouldn't have to do this to win fight! but his smart why stop doing it when the ref doesn't call it! still i don't like this !

Yeah I agree, even if it is very effective it still wont make him many fans, because fans dont appreciate this kind of dirty fighting.

That wasn't infighting. Tyson fought inside. Frazier was an inside fighter, and Chico Corrales, JLC and Julio Cesar Chavez. Ward hits, holds and headbutts. Watch what they did, and watch what he does, and if you can't see a difference, you're blind.

Andre Ward is just a great fighter he is one of the few that has mastered the craft of boxing and to go 12 round's and looked like he could have gone another 3 round's you can tell he love's what he's doing.

Infighting isn't about beauty. It's about guts, punch output, and technique, and ward did all three beautifully last night. The holding was as much Green's fault as it was Ward's, he was clinching on for dear life the majority of those rounds. The difference was that ward was able to infight alongside the holding that was going on.

Says the guy who thinks Jack Dempsey beats Ali. Not surprising that you're dead wrong here too.

That's one of the keys to infighting o my knowledge. It's not illegal. If your a boxer you should never allow your opponent to bury his head in your chest anyway. Green got scooled & beat up & he doesn't look like he has much boxing skill if you ask me.

last night green was initiating most of the holding, last night there were no head buts and no low blows, but ward is still somehow a dirty fighter:huh
pinning opponents chest with your head is something that is thought by a lot of trainers and its also something that is not that hard to get away from (a simple well timed pivot)
it is also something that many fighters through history have used.
i suppose the alternative would be better in which the ref immediately stops the action when the fighters get to fore arms length:-(

I never said Dempsey would beat Ali.

I'm right and you have no argument.

i agree that Ward did not fight a dirty fight but just fought a tough, inside fight. There was one headbutt but just one that I know of. With inside fighting and guys heads being so close together it's common for there to be headbutts so I can't blame Ward. Ward fought brilliantly in my opinion and whether it is "pleasing to look at" or not he still came there to win and he did that so people can't knock him for that. If anything, he was the only man who wanted to win last night. Green showed no intention to dig deep and at least try. It's not sparring, it's a pro fight he should've gave his all though sparring should be taken seriously too lol.

I say the holding was more of Green's fault but other than that I agree with everything else you said.
