Should we blame duckers more for bad/mediocre resumes?

it's disgusting and more so by the people who rabbit on about how all of a sudden these are the greatest atg's ever surfaced, our Boxing Media pundants, writers and even on Boxing sites are hard to take... Boxing will never be a guenuine sport ever again and even though corruption, securing and fixing was evident in every era, today is just a inexcusable pathetic joke.

 

What fights over the last few years have been fixed do you mean?

 

There is some truth to what you say. Guys like Tank Davies and Ryan Garcia couldn't make the money they make against such opp before social media. But they are exceptions. If you look at the top 10 p4p, the guys on there have taken the challenges and continue taking them.

And, yes, there was a period where we didn't get the wanted match-ups like Bivol-Beterbiev and Crawford-Spence and arguably we got them too late, but it has improved. Just for next year we have Lopez-Shakur already scheduled and in all likelihood Inoue-Nakatani coming up.

 

I'm not refering to 'Fixed' fights persay, just boxing in general in their Dealing & lack of dealing insuring a given outcome, just as @greynotsoold stated in his excellent Post.

Certainly for the last few years, I don't think that's true. So the last three or so years we've had Canelo-Bivol, Spence-Crawford, Bivol-Beterbiev x 2 and Usyk-Fury x 2. I think most (including me) disagree with the decision in Bivol-Beterbiev 1, but it was a close fight. Otherwise no controversy whatsoever. Few thought Spence-Crawford would be that one-sided, but that will happen now and then. It was the two best in the divison squaring off and that's all you can ask. All four of the Beterbiev-Bivol, Usyk-Fury were really good fights.

Inoue hasn't managed to get worthy opposition, but he's faced what's been around and hopefully will give us a super fight next year. And Stevenson finally found a good opponent in Lopez. That Davies been ducking him, and anyone else who's much good, is the blot over the last few years together with Canelo's ducking of Benavidez.

Otherwise, excellent. Might change if Turki tires of putting the big fights together, but fingers crossed...
