Should we get rid of Commentators or have an option button so we don't hear them?

ah yes, the joys of watching live. that's why i'm still against open scoring. it'll take all the excitement away.

you saw abraham-dirrell live? lucky you.

yes - VERY much against open scoring as well. . . Lederman is OK - because people who don't know a lot about boxing, and who don't score the rounds themselves, helps them - gives them an objective basis. . . For the most part, Lederman is OK. . He's turned in his fair share of doozies over hte years, though.

Yeah, it was a great experience! It's been the only "world class" boxing match I've been front row at thus far. . I was like five rows back (tickets were so cheap!). . . Could see the sweat flying from shots, hear little grunts, see their faces wince in pain, etc. . . Also was sitting directly behind Tommy Hearns - and I got to meet him and get a picture. . . Great night.

I've been saying that for ages.

That you should have an option to not hear the commentators but hear everything else.

    Commentators nowadays just annoy me.

    And my eyes still work.

I dont need anyone telling me whats going on.

Nice! What has been your most memorable live fight? yeah, I've been to ammy fights, and a few local shows with club type boxers front row, which is still cool, but when you have two world class boxers, it's a different. . I've been to a few other "world class" cards as well, but being front row is a completely different experience all together!

Lol even my mom had a great time, and keeps wanting to go to another live card. . . If Khan/Ortiz comes off late fall/winter, I'm going to try my damndest to be there!

Honestly there's no experience like a Pacquiao fight, although I've been on a lot of live local card (i really don't want to bring this up but i get paid to score fights, um, you know :D)

Watching him get tagged by Larios by a left hook and his leg straighten up while 98% of the crowd shut up due to what they saw. Nothing beats it.

years ago, like late 70's to early 80's I remember a broad cast where they tried that; just the crowd, the punches and the referee were heard. No commentators at all. I don't recall who was fighting.......

I usually always like the HBO commentary on any of the fights i have on DVD from the states. I'm not so fond of Sky or Box Nation commentary - i usually find when it's a great fight or great action it sounds like the commentators are about to fall asleep. At least Lampley occasionally gets excited.

If there's a big fight and Costello is covering it on BBC 5 Live (or whatever the station his does is) i usually mute the tv and listen to him on the radio.

I can enjoy commentary, especially when I see it done well when a video-maker does it in H.L. video....but HBO just showed round 7 without commentary and I enjoyed it a little more. I think my problem is when a commentator nuthugs one fighter. And Lampley does have a good voice for calling fights when most don't. But, I would like the option to turn anyone off and just watch the fight.
