With the exception of a few Garcia loyalists, nobody at all in boxing cares for this Showtime card tonight. Even the Showtime executives seem to be embarrassed by this card. However, the Showtime bill is already paid and since it is boxing I do have interest in the results, no matter how much of a foregone conclusion those results seem to be. I would hate to not be watching if by some freak accident Rod "3 KO" Salka put Garcia to sleep. So, it it enabling the sport by watching such a substandard product? And, how are the ratings compiled. I always watch by DVR. Is it like the Nielsen days when ratings were done by survey, or are they able to track viewers by the cable box. I likely will be one of those people who watched, but never admit it if asked.
Ya I'm watching. I went out and got hammered during the day so I'm staying in tonight and watching. If not for the Garcia fight, watch it for the Peterson fight, he could be ko'd.
Of course boxing FANS should watch this & every fight. If we had the mentality that certain fights shouldn't be watched because they are considered mismatches, we would have missed such fights as: Foreman ko Moorer Douglas ko Tyson Among others. That's one of the best aspect of boxing; the unexpected can happen at any time, any place, any where.
