Should weigh in's be on the same day as the contest....??

    :good The results of moving the weigh to the day before the fight speak for themselves.

    their has been more new rules passed aswell iw ouldnt credit it solely to this rukle

    They've insisted on doctors/ ambulances being on site at boxing shows as well but I think moving the weigh ins has def. had an effect on the amount of serious injuries to boxers.

    i think it has a small part to play

    but also it could be said some fighters get hurt more due to fighting heavier opponents like Gamache vs gatti

    I disagree mate, if you at the number of fatalities in a British ring before they and after they moved the weigh in theres very clear evidence that its doing its job.

    Boxers fighting against bigger opponents (like Gamanche/ Gatti) hasn't killed anyone like the way that excessive de-hyrating has. 24 hour weigh-ins are by far the lesser of the 2 evils IMHO.

    yes losing weight drastically for a fight tahts why they should have check weigh ins i think that is what has made british boxing safer

    i thinl they should as then it would be fairer contest in the ring not just who can put the wieght back and kill there body to make wieght

    The talk of going from 15 to 12 rounds.... I think most of the damage caused to fighters is not during the contest... it is in lots and lots of sparring before lots and lots of tough fights over a long period IMO.... :bbb
