If he fights Arreola in his next bout. Arreola has looked beyond shot in his last several fights. He has even stated that the way he has performed he doesn't deserve a shot at the title. In his last several fights he was routinely punched around by Fighters of journeyman quality. His record should be 2-4 in his last six fights with his only wins being a life and death struggle with club fighter Harper and former converted football player Seth Mitchell. The way Arreola has looked a short camp would be to his detriment and he could seriously jeopardize his health in life after boxing. He also failed his last drug test overturning a disputed win into a NC. With such fighters as Pulev, Jennings, Ortiz, Ustinov and others available should Wilder's team be boycotted if they insist on going through with the Shot Arreola?
If Wilder's chin is as horrifically bad as you all claim, then doesn't Arreola have a chance.:think:conf And no he shouldn't be boycotted, it wasn't him who tested positive was it?
Of any of the mentioned potential fighters... Which are also promoted by PBC? Sounds like it's pretty much as simple as... the fight is easy to make.
Areola is a potential banana skin for Wilder. It's a better fight than I expected him to take which is not saying much to be fair.
I didn't mention Wilder's chin in the thread. It's not really about Arreola's ability to crack it. More so than Arreola deserving the shot given how poorly he has looked over the last few years. Their are other options to Arreola. Also isn't it hypocritical to decline one fighter based on the grounds of a failed test and in your subsequent bout fight another fighter who just failed their last drug test?
The fight is a voluntary he can make fights with other fighters that are not PBC. Molina was Don King. Jennings was not K2 when he fought Wlad. And so on.
I like Wilder, but Arreola hasn't looked good in years. Wilder deserves to be criticized if he fights Arreola.
Actually, under the circumstances, I'm pretty happy with what they were able to salvage on such short notice. I'm giving Wilder a pass on this one. I think he'll have a big test late in the year.
Given the choices I can't be mad this is on free tv. Wilder will knock this name out and be in a position for a big fight.
