Full-time teacher part-time boxer Eric Molina put him on ***** street for ****'s sake! Has shown us nothing in any of his title defenses which were all against C-level opponents. Stiverne and Duhaupas took years out of Deontay's life and part of his soul too. If Ortiz has a decent chin (which I think he has) Wilder is screwed.

Yes... I'd have Ortiz as favourite... but I will admit so severely disliking Wilder and I think he is a terrible HW champ.

I think Wilder will win and he only picked Ortiz because he didn't look particularly great in previous fights with Malik Scott and Dave Allen. I think he's declined a bit enough for Wilder to squeek a decision.

Wilder is hard to rate because his comp has been so low for so long nobody knows how good he is yet.

This is a pick em fight to me.

Watch them make him the underdog like they did with Stiverne, and then call Ortiz old, bum, etc after Wilder beats him.

If Wilder beats Ortiz he will be the best name on his resume by a long stretch. He'd have a better win than Parker for sure.

I rank Ortiz in the top 5 HWs right now.

Ortiz was already looking old, even for a 48 year old man, but those two fights against Scott an Allen just made him look older. In addition he has been pretty inactive for a man of such advanced years.

I think Ortiz is vastly over rated, and although the same could be said for Wilder, I think Deontay has enough about him to win a decision here.

Agreed. Wilder's opposition has been atrocious, but Ortiz is also no spring chicken. Depends on the degree to which age has impacted Ortiz, I think. If he still has prime skills, he'll destroy Wilder. If he's declined, Wilder could win.

"ol" being the key word here. Ortiz and Wilder is probably closer to 50-50 than most realize because Luis is starting to wrinkle up in real time. Still probably Wilder's best opponent.

If Ortiz can take Wilder's shots, Wilder is in for a complete boxing lesson.

I think the odds will be closer than if this was 1 yr ago.

Ortiz has been out of action for a while now, I think he even picked up an injury didn't he?

His absence along with his age could be why Wilder suddenly mentioned his name.

That being said I see Ortiz schooling Wilder, will be interesting if Wilder can land tho

If you asked me after the Thompson fight I would say definitely yes, Wilder should be the underdog.

Ortiz has not looked anything special during his last two fights, and his last two opponents have been nothing special at all.

I think Wilder gets outboxed again by Ortiz, before stopping Ortiz late in the fight.
