Not that anyone seems to care about it, but considering that Wilder weighs under 224lbs generally, should he fight for it and be a "2 weight world champion"?

If he fights Zhang, he'll probably be fighting a guy with a near EIGHTY POUND weight advantage.

Would it make more sense to fight some smaller guys, pick up another belt and call it a day?

I'm not sure his ego will allow it.

Bridger will start off as a division for mediocre small-ish heavies and mediocre cruisers - it'll take time for the best to want to go there, if they ever do - in that sense it's almost made for Wilder... I just think he'd see it as a failure to step down - even though he can't (and never has) cut it with the serious heavies.

It might have been interesting if he had fought for the inaugural belt, just to etch his name on the record books. Now, I think the Zhang fight makes a lot of sense. He beats Zhang, he is back in the mix and can put the Parker loss down to inactivity and a bad day at the office. There will be calls again for the Joshua fight, and that in turn will make a lot more sense again to make. If he loses the Zhang fight, sure, why not try Bridgerweight

There is little prestige, or money, in the bridgerweight "division". For the good of his bank account at least he should stay at heavyweight; if he continues to take competitive fights at the top of the heavyweight division he will likely pick up some good wins owing to his great equaliser.

Depends how many cans there are to crush there. Can be a vacant two weight champion

The illusion is shattered... At the level he was capable of, he's probably still pretty capable - it's just that level isn't the proper contenders.

Wilder gets ton of shyte on here, some of it definitely warranted, but the guy was a water cut away from crusier,

He could have thought in that division anytime, but he chose heavyweight

There’s no money in fighting for that title

Wilder will retire soon and publish a rap album.

Bridger is a bad idea and cuts into the Heavyweight division which is insanity.
Wilder would be better off retiring.

Talk about fighting for a make belief WBC belt. There is nothing to gain.

    He'd fit right in!

Wilder vs the winner of Polish Guy-Octopus. Book it!
