Does Wilder have enough speed to sacrifice for more weight? I feel his chin is a weak point.

What makes you feel his chin is weak ? And why do you think gaining weight will change that ?

You talking like 15/20 lbs of pure muscle ? So he's still in peak condition, just turn him into AJ physically?

I've seen him hurt too many times by people that aren't truly professional level fighters. Now, if you'd said he owned 3 of the largest chins I need history, I d be adept at agreements

You know if you get hit flush by a heavy weight it's going to have an effect no matter what right

15 pounds of muscle and fat is about right. For example, Eddie chambers is noted to be fast, has a good chin, carrys some fat. I believe if chambers was as skinny as wilder his punch resistance would not be as good. Foreman was another guy who developed an iron chin as he became fatter.

And leave him a sitting duck for more of Nichols jabs in the rematch? No way. His mobility is the only thing that save him from being ktfo'd

I have seen Wilder say he wants to get up to 245 pounds so that answers your question.

This is spot on. If Wilder had snazzy footwork and a great jab, people would be comparing him to Ali. He will never get enough durability to become iron chinned.

No. Just no. Carrying fat, NO. Now if he wanted to be like AJ and added 15 or 20 lbs of pure muscle that would make sense. But adding fat is always a bad idea. No matter the reason.

I believe Foreman always had a very good chin, he had major stamina issues which leads to a weakening of the entire body and has a major impact on one's durability.

Once Foreman made his comeback, his body had drastically changed and I believe he was now with the wisdom he needed to be successful. Do not ever punch yourself out into a corpse. Imo, the 40 year old Foreman would beat the 20 year old Foreman more times than losing

But, I'm with your theory, I'd like to see wilder putting on as much muscle as possible, it would help him greatly with his balance and brute strength in the ring

No, it will only slow him down and he will get caught easier. He needs to maintain his speed and range and focus on the counter right hand.

That would be a great thread, actually. 40 y/o Foreman is wrong in all sorts of ways for 20 y/o Foreman. Not saying he is better overall, but just stylistically a bad matchup for his younger self.
