Cotto was treated like a hero for going after Margarito's bad eye

Cotto had the support of the whole world because of what Antonio Margarito was, a disgusting, arrogant, unabashed, unlikable, shameless, lying CHEAT.

Loaded hand wraps is one of the most egregious things a fighter can do that will spark anger and fury from the fans and the boxing community at large.

As for the cut on Fury's eye... I have never seen so much fuss made out of a cut ever before. Will this happen? What if this? If that? If someone beats Fury now it won't count for much because that really bad cut! Fury is a disabled target now! He will be targeted in that eye!

I think these Fury fans need to give it a rest. Like I have said many times, have you seen how many injuries and surgeries Wilder has had? He even had at least one fight where he was still wearing the bandages from a previous surgery on his arm..

It's a fight. Fighter's will hit you where they know it will hurt you most. It a fighter has a weak chin, of course the opponent will look for the button on the chin to turn the lights off. If a fighter is prone to cuts then maybe he will get a nice punch across his eyebrows and so forth.

Look at Kovalev, he don;t like getting hit to the body and therefore that's where some of his opponents like to target in recent fights.

He probably just needs to concentrate on landing anywhere as Fury can be elusive and it doesn't matter where Wilder lands he will hurt you.

Not only should he, it's a guarantee that he will. And therein where lies the prepackaged fanboy excuse for Fury's eventual loss.

Isn't it a given that when you're boxing ,you're going to punch your opponent in the face?

This. Wilder will do well to land anything hard on Fury, nevermind targetting a specific body part.

Wilder wanted Fury to step aside , funny how Wilder goes after the fight now and has a Superman cape on all of a sudden talking about how Fury has to fight him and he can't get out it ? :gaydude:

This character said today he's giving his fans the fights they want to see and is the only fighter doing it ? Sorry but no matter how dumb they actually are , they can't look at this guys actions and under stellar resume and actually believe what this guy says! What fools that were agreeing with him today . :crazylick:

If he wants to prove he's the superior boxer/fighter, than no, he'd just fight normally. It's a cheap move to target a recent cut/injury as a game plan, anyone with a sense of honour would understand that. See, people with an honour code would want to prove they're better than the other fighter without any kind of unnatural advantage and it wouldn't sit well with them to win knowing they'd had to resort to a cheap tactic to get the victory. There'd always be an asterisk, knowing if the cut/injury hadn't happened in the previous fight, you may not have won. Most fighters and fans have little sense of honour though.

If all he cares about is getting the V on the night, perhaps he could try this, but it's on the wrong side for the RH and a left-centric game plan might be a little awkward for him to pull off. It also remains to be seen how vulnerable the area will be come fight time, surgical techniques aren't too bad these days if you can afford a proper surgeon, which Fury can. If it opens after a few jabs and starts pissing blood, like Hughie's in the Pulev fight, then I guess it'll prove it's a permanent problem.

As for everyone cheering on Cotto, I don't know about that. Cotto is a POS who drained Geale to 157 and I believe he had a lame catch of 159 against the Argie cripple. Yeah, it's no surprise he'd target the eye Pac ruined as a game plan. It's just a shame he was a coward who ducked GGG, because he would have been KO'd cold.

    Any fighter would target it.

Honour and Wider just don't go hand and hand anyway.

You're talking about a guy who looks for holes and angles to accept fights or try and get them made.

First Ortiz when his age came out then a Fury fight bc he thought he wasn't ready.

He then rides off others names to make himself look good but only in his demented head does he think he's boxing greatest gift. Listening to him today was a real treat ...lol.....he's the only one that wants Ortiz, only one that wants undisputed even though he declined 100 million and is the only one taking risks.

I can see why certain posters on here act like they do who are with him and it's a joke ,they would never act certain ways in real life and like Wilder have giant egos....I even lost count how times he admitted to Ortiz as a grandfather figure which is admitting he knows he's around 50 and that's the fight the world asked for ? . Lol

He was pretty good at making Wilder look like an amateur in their first fight!
