The man is 35 years old, a unified champ, seriouly famous in Germany, and rich. He has a PH.D. After unifying all the belt accept the one owned by his brother, he has nothng left to prove.

The competition is virtually cleaned out until Helenius and Pulev are ready.

Plus, unlike with Vitaly, it his safty first style is not going to age well.

It seems like the man is at a sort of peak. Even though Vitaly is older, I say he should think about hanging it up and lettting Vitaly get a coupel more big fights.

Nope. He got through the toughest challenge to him in years, and did it decisively in his first genuinely hyped up fight and now he can sop up the gravy. He's on easy street for a while, from what I can see. Miles ahead of the competition, lining up mandos that don't stand a chance, more paydays and glory. Why leave now? Have fun dominating, he's going back to guys that can't mark up his face at all. All he has to do is stay in shape and do what he does best.

Why retire when you are performing on such a high level and barely getting touched. He still has years left.

He is relatively young for a HW. He can fight another 3-5 years at the top thats 10-15 fights and retire with shitload of defenses. Maybe during that time another worthy contender arises and he makes another mega payday. Vitali on the other hand is close to retirement maybe 1-2 years away from it.

Only people who want him to retire are the ones who despise his dominance. Actual fans, of which he has tens upon tens of millions worldwide, never want their fighter retire until he's taken some losses or looks old. Neither is the case here. Did Lewis fans really want him to retire when he did so to avoid a certain rematch? Similarly, did they want him to "retire on top" before the Vitali fight? Of course not.

"He should retire on top in his prime" is a passive-aggressive hater's argument more often than not.

Ali came back because of lack of money.
Holms too even though once he owned half of Easton...a crash gave it to the banks.
Lennox knew father time had caught up with him....

Lack of money should not be a problem, in they live good but not high off the hog.
Ego is always a problem...that and being called Champ.

Hell even Rocky Marchino thought about coming back for Johanson.

Wlad can have only two goals now, to get his brother's belt when he retires, and be thrid in title defences.

And some folks are right....he'd started to get old.
At 36 Joe Louis said, "When I was young, the opening appeared and I hit them. When I got old, the opening appeared and I said, hit them, and my hand didn't move.

Oppertunties happened during the Haye fight, and the fist didn't fly. Against others who will be coming in, that will be less of a problem, but father time is comming.

In the old days mid thirties was old in the heavies....hell 28 was old for lightweights....but that was deep tallent pool days, with a lot of young fast tallent.
An eye blink is the difference between young and old tallent, and who gets beaten to the punch.

It's seldom you have an Archie Moore or a Hopkins. 40 is very old for a fighter....38 is also.

We went through a time were there were a lot of old fighters fighting them selves. Many say he's young for a heavy, he's only 30.
No, that is not young, that is prime....three or four years away from start of decline.

Tennis is a reflex sport, most champions who have to fight the young fast lions every week, retire at 32-33, as they have lost 1/4th of a step.

A couple more fights for Wlad....Vitillie should retire after Adamck. He was talking about that until Haye came along....now that the brothers have the goal of all the belts....it's time for him to go.
His brother gets all 4 belts.

But the haters will moan they Quit....Quitskos. I didn't get to see them get knocked out.

If they stay too long and father time catchs up, they will still be just as hated either way.

Everyone complains now....Wlad don't mix it up, safty first. Ali often could have taken the fight to some one and tried to end it two rounds early....and didn't.....but many were not there and don't know...that Ali was a major safty first fighter. A man who loved closing an eye with a rip jab before coming in with the attack.

15 years from now, this will be seen as a tallent rich time....if we can get a few good contender fights.

Ali's time was seen as barren, Holms time was, Half of Tyson's reign, like Lewis's was 'empty' Yet many talk well of the latter reigns of both.....now.

I watched Lewis climb from despised and hated by the haters, to beloved ATG.
The haters will have that Finn to hate...or some one like him.
It don't matter they will find some one to hate, because they feel worthless them selves.
    They dis everyone.

If a man comes in in shape, gives his best, and goes out on his shield...that's good enough for me.
But the haters will only yak...China Chin.....

Reality is different today, than in my day. I can not understand haters....but I grew up, they never have and never will.

They should both go, no more challenges left for them

The next champions will be poor but at least we won't see lop sided boring wins anymore

there is at least 2 years left in wladimir..he barly loses rounds and hardly gets touched...vitali is going to retire soon..wlad take his belts defends them all a few times then call it a day so we can have bums milking different versions of the titles and not fighting each other.and everyone calling it an exciting division because some yank will have a belt

Why should he. He's boxing as well as he ever has. As long as he still feels like fighting, there's absolutely no reason not to. Chisora v Fury winner/Helenius/Solis/Adamek/Boystov/Perez would all decent names on his record. He can still make a lot of money too. It would be ridiculous for him to retire now.

You raise an interesting argument. He's put himself in a no lose situation with his dominance. So the call is really up to him. Not sure if Vitali would like a crack at more titles. Obviously if he did Wlad would have to move aside.

    No.

He should dominate for years to come while building up his fame and fortune. He's earned that right after going through his struggles and rebuilding himself as a fighter. Now he gets to enjoy his work.

he doesnt fight a style where he takes lots of damage, but, at the same time, doesn't have much to prove....let the man do what he wants....he wants to fight on, sweet...if not, enjoy retirement

He should wait for his Brother to retire and then pick up his belt. Would be a nice end.

    This.

I think Vitali should retire after he beats Adamek and then Wlad should take on whoever inherits Vitali's belt. Then once he has all four belts, if no challengers have emerged he should retire. There's no point in him continuing just to rematch Chambers or fight people Vitali's already beaten.
