I think Wlad can safely retire at the end of 2013, having dominated every opponent since 2006.

Wlad has 10 consecutive defenses now, if he stays healthy and doesn't slip too much I'd like to see him reach ~20 defenses or get to near ~70 wins. Either would be a nice accomplishment.

I think wlad can keep ruling til 2015 and thats what he should do, perform 10 years of dominance then retire.

He said in the HBO interview after the fight that he's still hungry, and even hungrier now because he thinks he can do better than he did in the Haye fight. I don't think money is a factor at all, both Klit's are very smart and don't live a stupid lifestyle.
It will come down to how long he feels it I think. How long he wants to keep putting in the work. For his age he hasn't taken any significant beatings in the ring and not much damage for how many fights he has. He seemed just as fast as ever against Haye, but he could show up old anytime, he still has the style to win even if he loses a step or two. He can actually just jab to a win every time, boring as that may be.
I'd like to see him hang them up within the next 2-3 years, with around 15 title defenses on his second run. No shame in that at all. I don't think he will catch Louis or Holmes in defenses, but there's no shame in that. Louis was fighting about every 3 months defending his title before the war, he had around 21 in 5 years, guys don't fight that much these days once they are champs.

Comparing tennis with boxing??Todays fighters can last long even at their 40s they can be at top level if they are motivated. And scientist said that brain is fastets at 39-40.Look at Bernard Hopkins reflexes vs lighting fast Jean Pascal. This is not 30s or 40s this is 2011.Training is diferent, nutrition, fighters has less fights, medicine is much better.Vitali come back at 37 and won belt.Your advice to him will be dont come back you are too old.In some interwiev Tyson said that fighters dont become too old, they lose motivation and hunger.Ali was old man at 38 but how manny beating he took.He was brain damaged and not healthy at that point. He was not too old he had Parkinson sindrom. How Archie Moore had great reflexes at mid 40s and Joe Louis was done at 36.There is no rules but discipline is important.Joe Louis enjoyed in nightlife and this is not good for figher expecialy for older.I think Vitali and Wladimir Klitschko knows when its time to retire better than I,You or peoples on this forum. They both are healthy, strong, look good.I am not their fan but they are the best heavyweighs today.

Don't think so. Wladimir could probably stick around into his early 40s if there aren't any really serious threats, which I don't think there are at the moment. He'll definitely hold all 4 belts when Vitali calls it a career in a year or so, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him put together maybe 6-7 more title defenses. Poor competition aside, he's really putting together one of the better runs in HW history.

Bull****. I openly support the man and defend him as a great fighter. But he can't afford to have those back end losses on his career like most guys if he wants to be remembered as great.

Wlad probably will never have a career defining fight because he seems to make everyone look bad. But in the process he could win a fighter who becomes a super star after he retires.

I think he'll be in sharper condition than Vitali when he's 40.

Wlad at 40 will be worse than Vitali at 40.

Handspeed & reflexes are an important part of what makes him so great H2H.

Yes, but he isn't as injury prone as Vitali.

    1. Vitali Klitschko has been past his prime for some time. This has been notorious since he's 37 or 38 years old.

    2. Lennox Lewis was past his prime when he was 38 years old.

    3. I think it's safe to say that Wladimir Klitschko will be evidently past his prime by the time he's 37 or 38 years old.

4, That means it's safe to say that Wladimir Klitschko will be past his prime since the first months of 2014. So we could say that he would do himself a favour by retiring in late 2013.

    5. So, Wladimir Klitschko should retire, for his own safety, in late 2013.

    6. That means he has approx. 28 months left to be active. This means he has between three and five more title defenses.

See "more often than not" in my post. If you look at the people in this thread agreeing he should hang it up, most are not fans. There are always exceptions, and I believe you.

I think that's a little too exact and unscientific.
