Should Wlad just retire and forget the Fury rematch?

You make decent points, and not having Emanuel around is a huge blow. He does however have Vitali, who hopefully can inject some fire in to him.

You mention the Ross P loss, he did have 16 straight wins after that, almost all by KO. Then he lost twice in 4 fights, and then went undefeated for like a decade. So while he may have gassed in a few fights, I think you may be selling him a bit short on his ability to bounce back.

4 losses in 68 fights over the course of nearly 20 years as a pro is a lot of losses now?

He fought 27 times against fighters who'd ever been rated in the top 10, going 24-3. That's good for 4th best all time, and the 3rd best all time in terms of win/loss differential.

He's not the same without Steward, and I'd expect the number to fall to 24-4 after the Fury fight, but I can't count the old dog out just yet.

He had 24 wins before Puritty as well, while he had many wins after the loss to Puritty he got those by not correcting anything from the loss but by doing what he normally did. It took some time for anyone to be tough enough to take what Wlad could dish out but when he did he gassed again.

I don't question Wlad's heart or will to win, I question his ability to learn from mistakes and adapt.

In the post war era 4 losses in or close to their prime for a B or C level fighter isn't a lot, for an ATG like Wlad it's at the upper end of the scale, along with guys like Holyfield who also had 4 losses in or near his prime years.

How many did Marciano have, Louis, Liston, Ali, Holmes, Tyson, Bowe, Lewis, Vitali? Compare the numbers and you see Wlad is at the upper end of the scale. 4 is not a lot, but it is for an ATG which is the standard I hold Wlad to.

It's going to be such a needed and exciting moment when "old Wlad" lands and drops Fury; I think he'll get up the first time, then Wlad will open up on him like he did In the Peter rematch and drop him for good......thereby proving he is not quite as spent/washed up as many seem to think

I plan to bet on the fight. I hope the odds will pay well on a wlad win, but I doubt they will I predict it'll be about even money 1/1 come fight night

Depends. How much money does he have in the bank? If he doesn't need the dough, and there is even the SLIGHTEST DOUBT IN HIS MIND that he could lose, then he should retire now.

Stay home, make babies with his hot little wife, enjoy the fruits of your labors.

However, if you STILL have that fire in the belly, and truly believe you can beat Fury, then go for it. And I mean GO FOR IT. KO that tubby knitwit. Don't just slap slap and jab your way to another boring UD. Go out like a champ.

What will Klit do when/IF he beats Fury in the rematch? Will he drop or continue?

i'd imagine it would depend on how well he did and felt. not one of the three hw champs has proven a thing to this point. if wlad wins and can get a unification next, wouldn't surprise me if he continues. its really a no lose situation. he wins, nothing but glory, he loses, he is a 40 year or older man.

True. I'm siding with he would probably continue if a unification was involved.

he could stick around getting beaten up by nobodies for a few years yet, but frankly he already acheived that many times in his prime.
