It is clearly in the rules no holding as it is no punching below the belt. If I punched a guy below the belt 15 times in the balls I doubt I would not get penalized for it. I also noticed it looks like the same referee is in all of Vlad's fights in Germany.

"Wladimir clinched 15 times in the 1st round against Mormeck"

IMO he should have been disqualified for that. It is a flagrant violation of the rules. My best guess is that in Germany clinching is not illegal in boxing which is part of the reason why he no longer fights in america. The fact that the referee did not deduct points tells you something is rotten in denmark. If I was Mormeck, everytime he clinched me I'd headbutt him or punch him in the balls, if the referee isn't going to enforce the rules, then why should I follow any of them? In fact klitschko clinched 41 times by the end of round 3. No other violation of the rule would be allowed so flagrantly so IMO, I am marking that one down as a loss for Klitschko.

    Yeah, he holds too much.

But of course as a professional athlete, you'd expect him to employ any advantage he can. If he's holding too much, blame the ref for allowing it to happen, and not the athlete. Boxers commit fouls all the time in a fight; it's up to the ref to enforce the rules.

roughing up ppl like the boss that he is is perfectly fine with the rules. unmanly behavior that disgraces the sport though, like Haye, Dirrell stlye flopping to the canvas over and over again, turning away, ducking below the opponents beltline etc or cowardly Mayweather-Mosley type holding has to get fined

Wlad does not hold Mormeck. Mormeck holds.

Watch Lewis vs. Tyson, this is holding. And Lewis holds and hits at the same time.

I think Wlad should have been deducted points vs. Peter in their first fight. Not against Mormeck though, Mormeck was just as guilty of the hugging.

This is the interview I was talking about with lamon brewster

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8h07R-P5Hfk[/ame]
he talks about dirty tactics, and states about Wlads holding

I agree that it should be the referee that should do something about it, and the referee should be to blame, all we want to see is a fair fight. I do believe Wlad does hold excessively and should be warned when going too far.

I also agree other boxers should have been penalized, like Lennox has done it too, so has Ali in some of his fights. When it goes too far I think the referee should definitely at least deduct a point.

I am a klitschko fan, I even made a thread which is now moved in the tko 6, where i said i believe if lennox and vitali had a rematch, vitali would have won.

I like Wlads style, but I do believe he needs to develop an inside game instead of taking too much advantage. When hes hurt he can hold, but not hold excessively, and wrestle guys to the floor.

Ali did hold some opponents, but this was generally in the latter rounds when he was tired or when he was caught in a corner as a technique to slip out, he would run up clinch and turn sideways and keep boxing. K2,uses this simply as a method to avoid any fighting out of long range and uses it much more often. Ali maybe did it once a round, k2 does it something like 11-15 times a round because he has no real defense (can't move out the way, doesn't cover up well, doesn't have good enough head movement) hence why anyone who can get past his jab can beat him. Its one thing to clinch once in the 15th round its another thing to clinch a guy 15 times in round 1, and where there are more clinches than punches landed.

Anyways, in order toclinch you must leave your self open in vaiours ways and the fact that vlad can get away with all this clinching is more a testament to his poor competition than anything else. There are various methods to counter punching an excessive clincher and they involve leaning one way or the other than back and throwing a punch. Only david haye in the 12th seemed to make such an effort. Mormerick should have been throwing pure body shots when klit was clinching his head

He holds too much, that is true. On the other hand, some opponents look for it- probably because the alternative is eating punches. I rewatched the Mormeck fight this week and he was charging in with his head down and clearly no intentional of throwing any punches. Same with Peter in the second fight
