Should Wladimir Klitschko be afraid of Kubrat Pulev?

I don't know about Pulev. He surely has a terrific jab to hurt his opponent, but besides that I think he is a pretty average contender.

Above that, I think Wladimirs jab is even better and more powerful, so it seems Pulev doesn't have any unique weapon to become a threat to Wladimir. On this forum and in the social media, everyone wants this fight to happen, but I see Wlad winning this 99 times out of 100, because styles make fights.

Fighters like Chisora, Arreola and Perez are perhaps less skilled than Pulev, but would all be a bigger threat to the champion based on their pressure styles in my opinion.

What do you think, does Pulev have any chance to pull the upset? Or will Wlad be able to drop him? Or should Wlad fight an iron chinned pressure fighter next?

    pulev is a joke...

Tony Thompson was hustling him early in his fight with him....

he's an overrated fighter.. Wlad by KO

I agree with the fact that TT could have won that fight.
Tony was gassed after 3 or 4 solid rounds in which he clearly dominated. He took the fight on a short notice, only a month after beating up Price for the second time and being dropped in that same fight. If he didn't gas, I think it would have been an extremely close fight.

    Pulev absolutely dominated Thompson.

Terrel was out hustling Ali in the opening rounds. Is Ali a joke as well?

And why did he gas? Why did he not gas against Price and Solis?

I think I misinterpreted the last option... as in Wlad should be confident that he can deal with any style at this point in his career? or There are no decent HW's other than him ATM?

From what I've seen of Pulev, he's nothing special.

Last option means that no contender is currently a threat to Wladimir.

    No he didn't. :think

Why did he gas? Because he was tired and didn't have enough time to be make preparations for this fight.

I didn't agree about the "joke" part. But I don't think he is much better than 42-years old TTT.

Pulev is a good fighter. Good jab, good technique and a decent punch.
He got dropped by Abell, which surprised me.
He is one of the best condenders out there (Maybe best of the rest), but I'm afraid he is no match for Wladimir and at the moment, no other heavyweight is.

Wlad is already avoiding that fight for over an year. It`s too much risk for the money he will get from that fight.
    1) Pulev is coming about 10 pounds heavier than Klit in his last fights. Ustinov (305 lb) tried to outwrestle him and he couldn`t. He surrendered - pizza on his face. Pulev is very strong ... I believe he has good knowledge of wrestling also.
    2) Pulev`s most notable wins are against taller fighters, some of them even taller than Wlad. He has a great feeling about distance and his timing is very good. Once he adjusts he becomes a pest.
    3) Pulev is very light on his feet. His footwork is outstanding. And the robot is too old already.
    4) Pulev fights 12 rounds and never gasses out. He is always in shape. Wlad is lacking stamina we can all agree on that.
    5) Iron chin
    6) His biggest asset is his mental strength. When hurt he fights back like a beast.

Wlad is too old already. If not Pulev it will be someone else but it will be soon. I even don`t count Leapai out.

NO! It is just that Pulev keeps that constant pressure up. TT gassed out because he couldn’t keep up with the tempo Pulev was imposing on him. I am sick and tired of reading what would have happened if Thompson hasn't gassed out. Well, that was their game plan and it worked. They knew they are going out to fight an opponent who is 10 years older than Pulev...

    THIS ^^:deal:deal:deal

Pulev has only been his mandatory since August.

What is it about Pulev that alters people's perception of time and space.

Good post. Don't agree about that iron chin part, don't think his chin has been tested already. He got knocked down against Abell, but that had nothing to do with his chin.

Don't think Wlad is too old yet, but he did not look in the best condition against Povetkin. Anyway, Wlad is always in shape too, so they have that in common.

He got broken down stupid. If he was in control he would not of gassed out.
What you are saying is basically- TT could of won if Pulev wasn't hitting him.
