Should Yori Boy Campas headline Kansas card? Should he still be fighting?

Well in his prime he was good enough to win a title, which is a level most fighters can only dream of. I loved his fight with Ayala,he was past it but showed he was still more than capable.

If hes healthy i think he should be able to fight again, as long as its against safe opposition. Id hate to see him thrown in with any talented up and comers. This guy hes fighting seems safe. I mean Yori Boy has already taken mass amounts of punishment but that was against world class opposition , if he fights some tomatoe cans he should be alright. As long as he stops at 100 wins.

anarci i know he was champ but that next level aginist elite guys like titio ,oscar, fernando an that is not knock cause i agree a world champ is dream of any fighter but he was just a notch below dont get me wrong enjoyed watching him an to win 60 plus in a row 90 plus in a career is a acoplishment in itself . i also agree he has took some serious punshment but most if not all his ko or tko losses he remaind on his feet or stool

You more then likely know more then me but also more then likely have a degree of bias, small or large. Just being blunt.

A 13-8 record isn't very impressive, and it could be said that he's improving vastly... If he wasn't stopped in his last fight in two rounds.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------

Campas if nothing else can punch. He can really punch.

Him dropping Trinidad was done with one of the shortest hooks I have ever seen in my time watching boxing.

Two years ago Campas fought the hard hitting 26-3 Alejandro Garcia and blew him out in one. Knocked him down with a jab if I'm remembering correctly.

Campas still works hard and comes to fight. 2 of his last 3 losses were via SD and MD. He's hardly shot, so I suppose we'll see.

Jose Gonzalez got his start in Garden City Kansas and at Bad Boyz Boxing Club. He had over 300 amateur fights and won several national titles. He had a bright pro future but he chose to go with another promoter and trainer several years ago. Since then his career has gone down hill. Who is to say it wouldn't have happened anyway? However, Jose turn his back on those that helped to make him what he was and he forgot his roots. This fight is a reconciliation of fighter and his former trainer and now match maker/ promoter, Robert Gonzales. Jose still trains in Missouri and is still promoted and trained by someone else. If he were training at our gym I could assure you that he would be ready and in the best shape of his career but since he doesn't I can't guarantee that. I can guarantee that Jose knows this is his best last chance to salvage his career. He only needs to train hard and lay some bad habits down. He is much better than his record shows but he has not taken his career seriously for sometime. If he does take it seriously in this fight. He will be a tough fight for Campas.

If he wants to fight, then let him fight!
