HBO more or less did its best to keep the cameras away from this one, but I never heard an explanation. Why were Pavlik's people yelling like maniacs after the fight, any official word on this? I mean, Kelly and Bernard tried to keep going for a few seconds after the bell.. but no real punches were landed that I could tell, and they broke up as soon as their guys grabbed them. But after they walked away, Pavlik's people kept on shouting and looking real angry. For a minute there I thought some bad **** was going to happen, though it seems Hopkins was able to cool them down with his little pep talk.

    So.. anyone know what happened?

Because he and Hopkins were still going at it after the bell rung. And Pavliks corner got pissed & accused Hopkins of having no class.

They were just bitter about how things played out. Hopkins niggling after the bell was nothing.

As the bell sounded it was Hopkins who wanted to do the punk stuff. Bernard lunged at Pavlik and cuffed Benjy Esteves like a small child when the referee tried to get in between them. Pavlik's first motion was to touch gloves/embrace. The bald headed guy in Pavlik's corner (everyone has keyed on) was yelling "...real classy!..."

Well I guess if that's all it really was... oh well. Was hoping there was something more exciting.

Nah, Hopkins damn near threw Esteves out of the way - but he held on to him. He tried to get around him on the right, and then maneuvered and hooked him on the left side grabbing him into his body after he had nothing between Pavlik and himself.

thats what i said. pavlik was also throwing shots after the bell, so he decided to get down and dirty and throw some shots back and get in his face. its not like hopkins put the ref in front of him for protection, he grabbed the ref to position him out of the way between him & pavlik

It was just some silly theatrics from Hopkins, he meant nothing by it, and he wasn't really trying to get at Pavlik, if he was, he would have. Pavlik and his team were still in disbelief over Pavlik's inability to compete.

That's a pretty good description of what happened.
