I started practicing boxing with my friend who used to be an amateur boxer. We don't really have a boxing gym nearby, so we just use the speed bag, double end bag, and heavy bag in our rec center. He taught me the basic stuff like movement, throwing punches, etc. Anyway, he recently got commissioned and had to move to a different state, so I'm more or less doing things on my own. I was practicing going to the body yesterday and I had a few questions about the positioning of your feet:
When you're digging, should I be bringing my head down for added power? Or does that not really have any bearing?
Should I be turning at all or mostly using my legs and coming down and up, if that makes sense?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you should always keep your head kind of down to protect your chin, dont leave it hanging out.

always rotate your body behind the punches, starting from the back leg, then the hips, then shoulder.
