A boy who goes to the same gym as me likes to pretend he is Naseem Hamed. As soon as you are out of his range he puts his hands by his side and does a gay dance. He did it to me a couple weeks ago and i laughed it off by hitting him in the body with a left hook. But, earlyer tonight when i was sparring him, he did it again . As he did it all that went through my mind was "what a ****" i boxed him for the next round and a half getting good hits in but then he did it again, i once again hit him for it but something must have clicked inside him as he just went insane. He was throwing a giant flurry of hooks to my head, burst my nose and got me against the ropes. I just covered up (feel i could have done more) Then after about 25 seconds he was completely gassed. I stepped around him jabbed him a few times then thought "**** it" i smiled at him big time, wiped my nose and beckoned for him to come and get me again but he was just too tired and i just continued to box him till the round was over. What are your opinions on people show boating? When he did it i just wanted to sweep him onto the floor and stop on his head. Was i a **** to do it back? Just wanted to know what people think on this matter.
Depends what the purpose is. If it's to look cool then it's stupid. But if it's used to **** your opponent off and get them to forget their gameplan then it can be smart I guess. Leave it to the pros.
It is just another side of Boxing you witnessed. All experiences in the ring are good ones. You see it again? No biggie.
I do it just for fun. Its not cos Im showing off or trying to be a ****. Sometimes I would bait my opponent by dropping my hands and some are just for distraction. If its pissing you off, its obviously working. Rather my opponent stood there with his hands down than punch me with it though, so dont see why it pisses you off.
i hate it to mate i know alot of boxers like that one time a boxer at my gym he wasnt even a good boxer but has always been full of him self did it in a fight got battered and stopped in the 2nd round and hasnt boxed since
you'll always have people who show boat and you'll never really know why until you ask them. Don't waste your time with that nonsense. your thought was "what a ****", how does that benefit you in or out of the ring. I've learned to not allow stupid **** get to me. there are more important things to worry about...like not getting your nose busted. Reflect on the events that led up to your busted nose. if you were focused, that may not have resulted. contol your emotions
If you want to see the events that lead to my nose being busted theres a thread called "sparring - feedback" with this fight on it? You can watch that then tell me the events that lead to it?
Theres a couple guys at my club they dont even spar yet but they throw 5 hard sloppy punches a round then walk around like there Tyson. lol Our rule when sparring is if a guy goes all out on you then give it right back. I love hard sparring matches when it just becomes a war though.
