Wound up in front of the computer watching boxing videos and found a couple I had to share. This one of Naseem makes me laugh out loud every time I watch it. It just doesn't get old. Check the back left of the screen at 3:11 - 3:15 :rofl [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDWnMXzgeZo[/ame] Post some of your favorites, discuss..
Evans Quinn v Kali Meehan....showboating for 12 rounds and forgot to fight....danced with the ring card girls in between rounds.....looked great but don't get points for dancing round :nut
This one should at least get honorable mention for best video in this thread. It definitely gets my vote for KO of the year. Moments like this remind me why I love boxing. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k7Sj6QxrTI8[/ame]
Calzaghe vs Jones was a disgrace i thought. I understand that Jones did that to his opponents but what Calzaghe did to him was very disrespectful to an ATG because Jones was shot as hell in the fight. If he fought him in his prime or even when Jones was still relevant then its all good but not when he cant do nothing against you because he is shot and not even a good opposition to you. That would be the same if Wlad fought Evander and if he KO'd him, start celebrating like Ali did over that guy ( just slipped my mind???).
Joe dismantled the ghost of Roy Jones in such a way that it should have been obvious to everyone, Roy needed to retire...probably five years before. As for it being disgraceful, I didn't think it was any more disgraceful than Roy clowning obviously outclassed opponents for years, just as Joe outclassed an inferior Roy that night. You get what you give. And just because its a sin that you don't know, I'm going to learn ya somethin... Sonny Liston....was "that guy" In their first fight Ali was the underdog and wasn't liked in general for his big mouth and antics. Surprisingly, Ali upset the champion and became the World Heavyweight Champion for the first time. Three months later there was a rematch that only lasted 1min 42 seconds before Muhammad Ali dropped Liston with what would become known as the "phantom punch". While Liston laid on the ground Ali stood over him screaming to get up. That is the picture you see of him all the time.
He's some good ol showboating by Joan "F the weight" Guzman. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QUX_gRTTS_E[/ame]
Vitali Klitschko. Watching this guy reminds me of a cat playing with a mouse. He fights only on the outside and never fights in close to give an opponent any chance. Thats kinda a cheap way to fight in my book.
God gave him those long arms to use the goofy in and out torso movement to do that. He would be an idiot to fight in any other way. Obviously he's no idiot. He still get's hit but you know you have to pay a big toll to get close to him. I personally would favor prime Vitali over anyone past or present.
