Pavlik, the saviour of American boxing, the second coming...

Well, I know theres a lot of threads like this, but to think, people actually argued with me about Calzaghe v Pavlik, then had the gaul to claim Joe ducked him!! We all saw Joe win a good 9-8 rounds against Hopkins, and after stepping up a weight, and fighting in the US for the first time, ( if these weren't factors, Joe would have won every round most likely!) but now, after Joe beats Jones in Nov ( barring a punchers chance like Jones has being natrually a lot bigger) maybe Joe can retire with the rspect he deserves as the greatest of his era.

Pavlik, I always said he was a no hoper, fed useless middleweights making a name from the usual American propoganda machine, I am just pleased, no one can use the excuse of Hopkins being shot, his age etc etc, Calzaghe beat one of the all time greats in his own back yard.

never expected a performance like that from hopkins, he made pavlik look like a total novice and to be honest glad that happened i was getting bored of all this kelly "the christ" pavlik this and that. bernard is a great athletic did the world a favour, calzaghes performance was underrated i dont think anyone else could have won against bhop with a 1st round KD. long live hopkins ...

Calzaghe got just as dominated as Pavlik did, the only difference is that the judges didn't cheat B-hop this time.

Calzaghe is the man simple as!.. He would have schooled Pavlik, I have said that from the beginning.. Pavlik is just the Jeff Lacy of today!

I thought JC hopkins was an even fight Hopkins had the knockdown and a few other hard shots...calzaghe hit him alot (in addition to all the glove slapping) had him taking a long, fake-ass low blow rest and in general outworked him....

    inconclusive to me

rematch if JC beats RJJ...and I agree do the second one in Wales

Should have known all the pathetic Calzaghe nut hangers would be out in full force today. They finaly have a paper win against a legit fighter on his resume now. LOL.

Joe C. lost to B-Hop to anyone that saw the fight and he is going to get KO'd by Roy.

Please explain to me how Joe won the fight when he landed nothing meaningful in the whole fight? How did he win over 6 rounds?

The judging for that fight was attroucious, but that is ok, once Roy beats his ass, We will no longer have to hear about Joe C. again and how "great" and "legendary" the chump is.

Well, I would call myself prideof... if I didn't think a lot of Joe's ability. Kelly is still learning, so for him to be jumping weight classes like ome mid-30s fighter out for a payday was stupid and how could Bob do that to him? Next time, offer Paul Williams or Sergio Mora more money. At least the Rubio fight should allow Pavlik to regroup.
