    Exactly.

It's like saying if Joe fought Hopkins like he did Lacy, Bernard would get knocked out.

Joe and Hopkins both have the ability to make the other guy look bad. It resulted in their fight benig as ugly as anything.

Hopkins wasn't able to impose his will on Joe like he did on Pavlik, no matter who you thought won the fight.

When Joe finishes Roy, these little debacles I hope will cease. Bernard is a great fighter and Joe is a great fighter too. Those guys can make anybody look bad including themselves. The only way to beat a fighter who is smart like you is to beat him ugly. Thats all there is to it. Calzaghe knew that and im sure Bernard did too. That's why they can show masterclass performances against anyone who is not on the same level as them.

I thought Hopkins won that fight against Calzaghe, but it was very close. But Calzaghe, the more marketable fighter got the favorable nod. Hopkins at 43 will always lose to any younger fighter in a close fight i.e. he will never det a close decision. Anyway, if the Hopkins that showed on Oct 18 against Pavlik had shown up against Calzaghe it woulda been more of a convincing victory for Hopkins.

    GTFO here.

    Hopkins beat De La Hoya
    Hopkins beat Trinidad
    Hopkins beat Tarver
    Hopkins beat Pavlik

and you're tryna sit up here and give Cal's the same kinda credit for realistically losing a fight against an ATG who dismantled other great fighters at an advanced age. You show me how that Clazaghe "W" is in any way as decisive as any one of those 4 victories above and I'll start believing your bull****. If anything you should just put Calzaghe in the same category as Jermain Taylor. ****, Taylor holds two "W's" against Hopkins. But you'd be hard pressed to call Taylor some kind of a boxing stud because of it. Cut your Calzaghe bull****. He didn't fight last night. How does he come out the victor? This kinda **** here is :dead

What are you talking about? Joe calzaghe beat Hopkins IN AMERICA. The "favourable" win would've been to give it to Hopkins, it could have been his comeback win. Joe dominated most of that fight, and it's only Calzaghe haters that perceived Hopkins "tactical" minutes of no-activity as some sort of gameplan, when in reality Joe was too fast for him.

I'm sure a younger Hopkins would've beaten THAT incarnation of Joe Calzaghe, but I can't be sure about him beating a younger Joe Calzaghe when he had that killer left slap!

This is ****in' foolish newbie logic.

Tommy Hearns KO's Duran. Duran beats Iran Barkley. Iran Barkley KO's Hearns. Is it fair to then say Barkley is better than Duran cuz he KO'd the man that KO'd Duran?

Styles make fights. You can't jump out the window and say that **** and there's no way in hell Cal's is better than B-Hops!

Calzaghe beat your hero but you continue to bury your head in the sand. You need to accept Joe is the superior fighter.

Calzaghe knew his next fight is 99% likely to be to his last fight.

So his thought process is this: "Why waste my time fighting another over-rated hypejob like Pavlik and earn a few dollars when I can step into the ring with one of my heroes, an ATG no less, enhance my legacy and earn countless millions in the process?"

Before last night, you could not come onto ESB without reading about how Calslappy was running scared of the all-conquering leviathan that was Pavlik. Thankfully, the myth has been exposed and we can all stop pretending that JC was ducking Pavlik. He did not want to fight Pavlik because Pavlik is not worthy of being in the same ring as a legend - see last night.

His decision to seek a big money fight against RJJ has been justified.
