I've never seen a boxer get so much credit for a win that wasn't even his. It's alright. For some reason, boxing fans like to use that 'A beat B therefore....' logic so I guess it's understandable.

I think it's just a counterbalance to the lack of credit he got for the win that was his.

Six months ago Joe Calzaghe beat one of the top four P4P boxers in the World today. But a lot of people addressed it as if he had picked out a random middle aged guy from the crowd and taken him on.

ihad hopkins up 8rnds-4rnds calzaghe. Calz took rnds9, 11, and 12. maybe one early round *JUST 2 BE NICE*!!!!! When i read the comments on this site you people make it sound like bernard had his eye cut, face discombobulated, soul stolen, blood drippin from his mouth, he was beaten to the ground and faked a low blow, etc........im confused:think I watch the fight calz landed vary few punches most of which was landed in the 11th and some how he beat bernard??? Why dont people count body shots in boxing anymore cause bernard landed plenty of significant body shots throughout the fight. Mindboggling completely mindboggling:rofl

styles make fights and bernards low activity and joe awkwardness caused the fight to be a stinkfest. this doesnt do anything to make joe look better. it makes a difference for 2 fighters bernard and kelly. calzhaghe took a sd and should clear any water and doubt by beating the man soundly but thats another issue. it remains that this fight does nothing to raise calzhaghe's status .

who the hell reigned pavlik the savior of us boxing? 2nd 3rd or 4th coming? i like pavlik but knew there was no way he could beat hopkins with a jab and right hand especially with his defense. hes got work to do but doesnt have enough to beat hopkins.

calzaghe beat hopkins on pitter patter work rate if its anything like his other fights. i dont see him beating roy jones what so ever. hopkins will get his rematch and win. so he can finally retire.

Hopkins was not beaten decisively since Roy beat him 10 years ago.

Calzaghe - Hopkins was a close fight, and I had BHOP winning by a point. Calzaghe was very active in that fight and the decision could have gone either way.

The fact remains is that Calzaghe made it a fight, he wanted to become the LHW champ and went after BHOP to get the recognition, same was with Taylor, who had the desire to win......but none of these guys beat Hopkins decisively.

Pavlik didnt even come close to beating BHOP...it just shows you how really good Hopkins is. Both Calzaghe and Taylor should be given enormous credit for taking Hopkins to these close score card decisions. If you fail to recognize these facts, then you simply dont understand how the boxing game works

Hopkins LET Calzaghe live in that fight by failing to punch. Calzaghe fumbled around in the dark like a ****** - the only difference was Hopkins wasn't raining down combinations on Calzaghe like he was Pavlik, Wright, Tarver, ect. Joe Calzaghe is a lucky mother****er, and there's no way he'll fight Hopkins again. Joe knows goddamn well.

Agreed ^ and yes, a shocking number of ignorant morons and noobs don't understand that body shots are scoring punches. I cannot tell you how much blatantly clear evidence of that I've seen recently. That's an aside really, Calzaghe didn't score for **** in this fight. Good post.

If you believe that you are out of your ****ing mind. B-Hop manhandled and dominated Calzaghe in their fight. If the judges were competent he would have won that fight by UD.
