with them paying so much out to their fighters,

almost 42 mill guaranteed for floyd, probably around 12 mill for canelo

    2 mill+ for the co-main

    500K + for the openers

someone plz teach me how the SHOPPV structure works

    say it does 1.6 m x 75 bucks a pop = $120, 000,000 gross PPV

For the Guerrero vs Mayweather fight, they needed 1.1m PPV buys to break even.

Unfortunately, that fight sold only 870k and Showtime lost money which forced Mayweather to fight Canelo. You can do the math and extrapolate to see what would be needed for this fight.

they're also getting 19+ million dollars from the gate and also over 20 million dollars from sponsors. They'll also get more money from closed circuit

Well the cable company gets about 50% of the ppv revenue right off the bat. That'll help give you an idea of how many buys they need.

and I don't know what Floyd's ppv cut is.

75 is too much......but half goes to distributors and they end up with 60mil. unless it's in their contract, showtime and hbo have never gotten share from concession, gate receipts, ad sales, closed circuit or theater tickets.

showtime may have a share for international tv rights if they use their broadcast.

i would say that break even number is 1.5-1.7 mil.

No way it does 2 million. You are out of your mind.

They set the price too high.

sho gets half? Well that certainly helps lol

leaves 85 mill left over to the fighters......

so lets say fmj makes 50 million + canelo 12 mill plus the rest of the card is 2.5 m = 64.5 million owed to the fighters

20 mill profit. that good? i guess yeah?

And they have to split the gross PPV revenue with the cable companies. Edit: Nevermind, in the few minutes I waited to post the point was already mentioned lol

How does that add up then if the cable company keeps half? How can floyd make 60 million from that after everybody gets their cut
