Showtime announces Aug.9th event-NO mention of Brook vs Porter

Fight isn't going to happen. See a lot of people blaming Porter but if you listen to him talk about the fight he always seemed pretty open to it and very confident about it, so I don't know why things would change now.

On Brooks end, I believe he wants these big fights but you just never know what's going on in terms of his promotion. In other words I wouldn't exactly trust Ed's motivations.

I like Kell, but it's ****ing frustrating trying to support a fighter who for whatever reasons remains untested at the level he should be fighting at.

 

If he has a better option ie mayweather then there's no chance he fights kell

Well it sounds now like the problem is on Porters end. Interesting that Hearn mentioned in his statement that there was a few issues ironed out and that the contract included random drug testing. Wonder if Porter and his team weren't too keen on that.

 

It would be sweet if the fight does get confirmed and was placed as chief support for Mayweather in September as AUgust 9th looks out - its a pipe dream but you never know

 

So it looks like Porter has ducked the fight... Shame, was looking forward to this one.
