From Dan Rafael's online chat today:

"Showtime has announced that Nov. 27 will be a doubleheader -- Ward-Dirrell from the US and Froch-Abraham from Helsinki, Finland in Super Six bouts. They are calling it Group Stage 3 and not the semifinals. Now sure how that will work. Showtime is saying Allan Green will have a new opponent for his Group Stage 3 fight (which I am told, by the way, could be on the Lopez-Marquez undercard on Nov. 6)."

the fact that the fights are happening is great but if they keep Green in it with another opponent, it really could **** things up. There's nobody of consequence that Green could fight. But what if Green or his opponent win by knockout? It could leave Dirrell or Froch on the outside while one of these guys advances and that would be absurd.

Yeah I agree having Green in it is extremely pointless. Hopefully Green's fight ends in a draw so we can be spared from having him or his opponent make the semi's.

Putting Green in against a new opponent is nothing but extending the tournament and trying to bleed some more $$. If Nov 27th happens it should be the semi's. Forgive me for forgetting what the original schedule was supposed to be but imo anyone who was supposed to fight Taylor or Kessler should receive points on a forfeit equaling a decision win and move forward with the tournament.

From what I heard Green could be fighting Sakio Bika on the Pascal-Hopkins undercard.

This is ****ing stupid, that means Green could go through leaving Dirrell or Froch out of it which would be absurd

My guess is Green/Dibella threaten them with legal action if they didn't.

if only fighters could be threatened with legal action for not actually fighting. All green did was stand against the ropes and take a beating.

They really should just make those the Semi-Finals on November 27th.

Can we get a petition going?
