Or given the ultamadum of picking his poison and fighting one of the top fighters in his natural division CW as punishment for his transgressions.

Madness is right. He was massive, I honestly thought he was 2 bills when I saw him in the ring. I absolutely love David the fighter. He’s an immense talent, but cmon dude, just move to LHW and fight guys your own size already. I’ll hate the “weight bully” phrase because cutting is part of the game. But once you miss weight, especially as a World Champ, all bets are off. He’ would be a huge LHW as it is. He’s 6’2 with a 77 inch reach and 200 pounds. WTF are you doing at 168?

175 was and is too good. That's why he, Smith, Ramirez among others have instead opted to boil down to 168 a fairly weak division. Ramirez has moved up to 175 though. I suspect the cut was becoming too much for him and that he will bide his time fighting bums until he can be manavured into picking up an easy belt. He's definitely not going anywhere near Beterbiev or Bivol. He can barely beat Jessie Hart.

Read somewhere Japan bans fighters for a year for missing weight. They've got it right.
I like David Benavidez too, but it was very disappointing to see him miss weight and not even try to take off the pounds.

Wallin's performance against Fury probably eclipses anything Old Man Ortiz has done as a pro too.

He has good skills and the size but he looks like an arm puncher to me.

Benavidez coming in at 195 is insane. Even though I'm a big fan of him, like Haney and Teofimo who are also members of this next generation of young American stars of the future, he's huge for the weight and is a weight bully too. I knew he was big for the weight but not that big. To add some perspective. 195 is not only by far the highest weight I've ever seen any SMW come in at, it's the joint highest I've ever seen a LHW come in at and ironically that was the only other guy to beat Angulo too ie. Zurdo and that was for Zurdo's debut at 175.

This is the only other recorded weight of Benavidez's I'm aware of and he had a huge weight advantage in that one too albeit to be fair his opponent is a pudgy MW at best.

Angulo is naturally just one of those thick-set physically strong and powerful dudes and maybe he might be quite big for the weight too. But his two losses have come against fighters who AFAIA have set the rehydration record for LHW and by 2 or 3 pounds
