They have the 2.2 million from the Canelo fight to lean on. They are already at 3+ million PPV buys through 2 fights. They don't even need a million from the Maidana/Mayweather bout to reach 4 million buys in 3 fights. That's approximately a 1.33 million average per fight. If they are over 1 million for Maidana, that average goes even higher.
