I'm rooting for Donaire and depending on how he fights I may become a fan of his. With Lopez-Concepcion I'm staying neutral and hoping to see two great fights. You can do it Donaire!

A southpaw Donaire. That is his power hand.

Donaire's reach and size seem to be a little bit too much.

this experiment was a bad idea for Donaire

his upper body may have adjusted to Southpaw but his footwork certainly hasnt

    Round 1

Marquez lands a right hook right off the bat. Donaire circles while feeling out the southpaw vs. southpaw dynamic. Marquez lands another hook. They circle a bit more. Marquez chases Donaire into a corner with a hook and straight left combo. Donaire flicks out a right jab and Marquez bats it away. Another Donaire jab is deflected. Another. Marquez leaps in with a hook and Donaire steps out of the way. Donaire doesn't look very fluid yet with the right jab, flicking it out consistently but not landing it. Marquez keeps zipping in and throwing single and double shots, with Donaire evading. They suddenly begin to rapidly circle at close quarters and exchange heavy punches toward the end of the round. Donaire's right hook is the loudest punch to land.

    10-9 Marquez

    Round 2

Donaire trades right jabs with Marquez, snapping his out a bit more now. Marquez weaves and looks for pot shot opportunities, throwing straight lefts up high and jabs/hooks to the body. Donaire lands a lead left and then picks off a brief Marquez flurry. Marquez lands the right hook as they continue to step around each other's lead right foot. Marquez lunges with a left and Donaire counters him with a quick upperhook while crouched, then a standard hook to the head once he pulls up. Marquez sticks his right jab and Donaire brushes it aside with his right bicep. Donaire seems to have found an answer to the right jab, rolling his shoulder and upper arm into it while turning his body away.
