If that was the sole criteria Hurd may have one three rounds.

 

Too bad I went out to watch the Khabib fight, seems like this one was better.

I dont think it will be easy hurd isnt an easy fight for anyone at 154 but he will be simply outclassed in a 8-4 type fight

 

We've seen complete fighters get beat by attrition. Hurd is that type of guy, and has size and youth to back him. Id favor charlo, but Hurd is a force and as long as he's standing, he will never be out of the fight. Id love to see it!

I do favor Charlo (not by a large amount) in that one, but I can't personally call him too complete just yet. Hurd is truth serum. Whatever Charlo's made of, we'll find out because Hurd doesn't leave any other option. I don't think he's been pushed to the level Hurd's going to take him to yet, so it's tough for me to say he'll survive the deep waters with a ton of confidence. Hurd is more battle-hardened going in to it.

That's a 55-45 kind of fight right now for me.

 

Just saw that a legal free live stream was floating around on Twitter for Jhonny González vs. Marvyn Cabrera tonight and started kicking myself, but then took note of timestamps on tweets from when it ended and was relieved to see that it would've overlapped with the Showtime main event anyway. That makes it an easier pill to swallow than if they'd been staggered and I could've watched it had it just occurred to me to look.

 

Thinking about it. Lara has rehydrated into the 170s before. They were likely within 5-8 pounds of each other.

But, that doesn't excuse me not seeing Lara's vaunted power as touted by you and others. As I stated previously his power is average.

 

I agree with you. J-Rock is a nice fighter and I'm glad he's bounced back well, but I don't particularly like his chances against Swift.

 

You know I'm pretty drunk when I have it even wider for Lara than you did!!
I just thought any of the first seven would have been "atta boy" rounds for Hurd. There were plenty where he did better (2nd, 4th and 5th), but still not enough to take them. 10th could very well have been a Hurd round though.

 

If Charlo can't KO' him, he will be in trouble down the stretch. Williams was gassing against Gallimore, and Smith, he should steer clear of Hurd.

Not really a Hurd kind of guy, not the kind of style I prefer to watch, but to almost stop Lara is impressive.

Hurd loves to fight wars of attrition, using his size and physicality to break people down. A complete 180 of what I like to watch, I can't enjoy this kind of style. Just can't.

I like to watch boxing finesse

Him and Shawn Porter are two fighters I can't really enjoy, but I don't dislike em.
