Lara’s face told a different story but I get your logic.

 

Had Lara by a point, but can't argue with Hurd winning by the same score. I thought Lara would give Hurd a boxing lesson, Hurd impressed me tonight. No idea how me not only makes 154, but only puts back on 9 pounds to 163 and still manages to look that huge. Trout & Lara must be tiny JMW's.

 

I'll definitely watch the Lara/Hurd fight asap! Sounds like a good one. Always kinda like Lara, sad he didn't get the win but oh well. Hurd winning probably makes the division more exciting.

 

Never let it be said that I can't analyse a guy fairly. ^ This was before the fight started.

With that said, I'd be perfectly okay with Lara never fighting on TV again. He's had his time, and he's been a darn chore for most of it.

 

Hurd was unrestricted tonight in terms of his weight (the usual IBF ten-pound rehydration limit got waived because it was a unification). If you don't think Hurd came in with in excess of ten pounds on Lara in the ring, I'm not sure what to say. You'd be on a very lonely island with that belief.

 

Just watched the fight this morning, excellent performance by both Lara and Hurd.

I had it 8-4/116-111 with the knockdown, although some rounds where very close and I wouldn't have said a draw was out of the question.

I like Hurd but I think if he moves up to 160 with the style he has now I think he will be on the end of somebodies highlight reel KO.

 

Curtis Stevens vs. Hurd sounds fun, and would be hilarious to watch (half a foot between them, but even with that I wouldn't bet against Showtime)
