Showtime Boxing: Jarrett Hurd vs Erislandy Lara & Caleb Truax vs James DeGale RBR

Apparently they did it anyway because Lara requested it, but it doesn't look like judging by Hurd's build.

 

Had Lara winning 114-113, felt he was the sharper puncher of the two, whilst his output was considerably lower he was the more accurate and economical puncher. Hurd's sheer output of punches won him rounds and the knockdown in the final round was key. Cards were all close so the decision was fair although I scored it to Lara.

Very good fight. Lara started off well, picking his shots carefully, but Hurd's pressure really was too much for Lara and Lara got beaten up pretty badly in the last four rounds.

 

Lara's legs aren't as mobile as they were 4 years ago.

 

I have it pretty similar but forgot which rounds to whom.
There are plenty times in the later rounds that I thought Lara was going to quit.
He showed heart and never give up. Respect.

 

Fell asleep last night so catching up now. Into round 8 of Degale and he’s done. His offence is non existent now. Could you imagine what Young Christopher would do to him?

 

Also Truax Vaseline man was the most jacked cornerman I’ve seen, bigger than Dom Ingle.

 

Lara is a tough guy. Always has been.

 

If Degale vs Uzcategui happens, then i see Degale getting a savage beatdown.

 

Yeah it’s the totally wrong style of opponent. If Degale is intent to carry on he should do a PPV cash out with Eubank because it would be massive here and he’d easily make in the region of £2-3m. He’d suffer a humiliating beatdown and possible no mas but at least he’d make some money.

 

Great job scoring Chuck. We didn’t have the same rounds for both fighters but we somehow reached the same score. Hurd didn’t need the knockdown to win. Very impressive performance.

BTW who would you favor if Charlo and Hurd fought?

 

That’s 50/50 for me but I’d favor Charlo because of Hurd’s lack of defense.

 

He moved similarly vs Angulo. For some reason, when pressured, he tends to cover up and stand still.
But i have to agree and say that his feet have lost their spring.
