One should have listened to them as a Pavlik fan during Pavlik vs. Lopez.

  2. Merchant sounds like he's smoked an ounce minutes before showtime. The mans began to ramble!

Hbo for entertainment value. Showtime's crew is more accurate and knowledgeable but boring as ****. Its like listening to a group of boxing fans just talk amongst each other. No drama or excitement. So, I'll go with Hbo.

I don't see what all the accusations of HBO bias are about. The only one that comes to mind is Steward liking Williams' aggression when it was Martinez getting the better of him on the inside before the KO.

Lampley isn't really biased. He may miss calls or exaggerate what goes on but he never rambles on about a fighter, except maybe Pacquiao. But he'll turn around during the JMM-Diaz fight and say things like

"That was as exciting a performance as Pacquiao's ever put on, not to discredit Pacquiao who is great, but Marquez is just as great"

    or

"you say to yourself, 'Pacquiao has the best offense in the sport', but then you watch Juan Manuel Marquez and you say 'wait a minute.'"

I guess in that case JMM is the HBO fighter they were supporting, but he was being impressive. So his "bam-bam" nuthuggery for Pac isn't really THAT bad. I think he just jumps for joy a bit much whenever a highly ranked fighter impresses.

Showtime = professional (beside Jim gray)

HBO = HBA (hidden boxing agenda)

I see what you're saying. Though, even though I don't consider myself a Klitschko hater, it's very easy to look at a previously dominant Lewis and go "wtf is happening to this guy," or a heavy underdog in Briggs against a predictably dominant Klitschko and say "what heart the guy taking a beating has" instead of "look at the out-fighting craftsmanship that we always see against this un-answering opponent." In both cases it was more worthy to highlight the opponent, IMO.

But I wouldn't be surprised at all if they had a consistent US bias. I just haven't seen the rampant "HBO Agenda" people keep talking about. Alexander looks bad, maybe even losing, against Kotelnik, and Kellerman is not afraid to say so. Barrera's loss against JMM is wide on the scorecards when the two are heading on opposite career trajectories, Lampley and company aren't afraid to say it. Same with Castillo-Mayweather: "Not the fight we saw."

Nah I ****in hate Gus. Bernstein is alright but the guys is always way to negative on the guy whos actually winning the fight which is bad for the casual fans that we want to be more diehard. Tarver is a better talker than Jones but I think Roy's analysis better. I can't stand Lampley for some reason, just seems like a ****er but he's one of the best Announcers in the biz. Merchant I gotta soft spot for growing up hearin him call the ****, but he gotta go. Lederman can be biased as **** sometimes but how classic is Jim I gotta tell ya. HBO's got a better telecast in all aspects IMO.

Disagree doesn't really convey my sentiments...it would be like if disagree started training at the Wild Card with Freddie Roach and had Ariza making up "power shakes" for it, what it would become is what I'm looking for. Until then strongly disagree will have to do.

**BTW *******s, just a joke...not trying to get into that **** storm.

I do like Tarver but can't stand Gus Johnson. That guy is terrible. I don't much care for Kellerman either.

I like Lampley and Merchant though. Merchant tells it like it is.

Showtime's commentary is the worst I have ever watched in my life. How anyone can listen to those boring cardboard cut outs is beyond me.
