Such a difference, I actually enjoy their commentary as opposed to HBO, where I'm forced to turn down the volume.
Considering ShoBox don't have an old senile condescending drunk as one of their lead commentators I am inclined to choose them.
For me, it's not even competitive. Showtime is actually enjoyable to listen to. HBO has gone stagnant in terms of commentating. Larry Merchant is wretched. He speaks slowly and carries his bias with every malice-filled word. It's getting worse, somehow.
what i like about bernstein is he is a very good broadcaster (speaks well) and boxing journalist (knowldge about names and such) but beyond that he actually did a bit of boxing as a young man (not allot..but more then most broadcasters journalists) and as such he also has more of a idea of what its like to be in their...at least a bit of a idea.
Lampley kept saying how khan should be throwing more body punches. that was a semi decent point early after the knockdown...but then he was still saying it in the 10th round...at that point khan was hurt and slowed down in hands and feet. The last thing he would have wanted to do was try to lower his hands to drop in body shots...lampley is a dumbass.
