Gavril is decent, otherwise I wouldn't have done a thread on him, Ayala supposedly ran from him the whole match, and maybe he thought it would be a walk in the park and didn't prepare adequately for it, but if you stand in front of him he brings it.

    ''I was very relaxed''

Yeah, too relaxed. He was annoying the hell out of me when he was dropping his hands too, he was wide open for a right hand and Gavril was in position to land with it a lot of the time when he did it too.

I don't have a problem with either guy winning (114-113 either way would have been fine), but all three scorecards were ridiculously wide.

Given the way everything unfolded, I'd say a rematch is natural.

It seems to be a common factor in the SMW division where every top fighter leaves something to be desired. Truly a division lacking any true top tier talent. Which sucks since I'm a fan of a lot of them.

Seems like unfinished business. Hopefully we get it (which, really, means it's doubtful).

benavidez needs to get away from letting guys punch at him while he tries to block with his arms. he needs to learn to use his waist more and slip more often. hes got good footwork when he uses it but he seems to be content to allow opponents to punch at him while he covers up, it looks lazy.

Gabril deserves a rematch but I doubt he does any better than he did today, whereas Benavidez will surely improve on his performance.

He needs to adjust his attitude and fight with more urgency too. You watch any of his fights and he always has a lot of success when he's walking his opponent down, letting the combinations go to head and body, uppercuts, hooks etc. and then stepping to the side to create angles and letting more go. When he fights like that and sustains his attacks instead of just firing off singles or twos and threes he looks electric.

hes young, still fights more with his balls than his brains, still got a chip on his shoulder. this was a good fight for him, if his team is any good they will nix all the showboating and focus him on taking care of business first.

I forgot all about this fight, i just figured Gavril would get blown out in like 4-5. Underestimated that E.E. toughness.

Yeah he's young and he will only get better but his problems seem to be more his attitude than physical. Had he fought like he did in the 11th, which is how he usually does a lot more than he did tonight and how I expect him to, he would've done a lot better.

He fought a smart fight and stuck to his gameplan but his overall skills are mediocre. Plant would shut him out easy.

Screw marquez and mayweather for saying plant needed to step up his offense. Plant looked great. The best thing about his performance was that he stayed patient. All plant has to do is keep hitting and not getting hit. The goal every fight should be to hit and not get hit. **** the blood thirsty fans. Are they gonna push your wheel chair when your 50 with a swollen dome and brain damage. F may weather.....Different standards set for plant because hes the wrong color.
