No one took this fight serious. Just look at Stiverne. The dude is so out of shape and hasn't fought close to 3 years. Who in their right mind took this serious?

C'mon, man: it's not like Wilder's people held a loaded shotgun to Stiverne's head and demanded that Stiverne come in way overweight for the fight.

Stiverne only has himself to blame there.

Who's defending it? I'm merely stating a fact, most of the posters complained after the first fight, that Stiverne was sick, and hahahaha Wilder couldn't KO a sick man, the same ones who were saying Stiverne would KO wilder, well, why all of a sudden is the rematch they wanted after the first fight now a farce. People need to be more consistent.:deal:

I get what you mean but I fall in a slightly different camp. I too believe Wilder loses badly if and when he ever finally steps up but as of this moment, a bout shy of his fortieth and bookending his 3 year and counting farcical WBC reign with another victory over Stiverne, he still doesn't have a bigger step up on his resume than Szpilka (and Szpilka was up on my card when they fought, way up before the much bigger heavyweight bailed himself out with raw power) - who is decent but maybe B-, tops. By far his best career opponent to date IMO.

That said I have never been high on Stiverne, in fact I was giving the rest of the board pushback on their overrating of this nonentity since before you even showed up here. FFS, the guy was taken to school and thoroughly outboxed in his prime by a shot to bits ancient Rainman Austin. Nuff said.

So did I, on the same thread I think, granted like you said, you beat me to it by a few years, I've never rated Stiverne, but for all the people who did and said he'd beat Wilder and complained after the fact when he didn't, they can't take that back now, they made their bed, they have to lie in it.:deal:

The problem is you're quoting me as if I was one of these Stiverne ppl and I'm not. You're flexing your bias on everyone and that is not cool.

I don't care, I don't even know what your point is, I've had 4 hours of sleep in the last 40 some hours, and I've been scoring Boxing matches for the last 10 hours, leave me alone.

I don't think he's defending this **** bag of a fight so much as he's somehow trying to brag that he's better than everyone for whatever reason.

I don't give a **** about this match, I was merely pointing out, that most of, but not all of the posters that are crying about what a farce this match was, are the same ones that said Stiverne would beat Wilder, and rated him highly, and after the first fight,, wrote lists on thread after thread making excuses for Stiverne, using them to slander Deontay, well, he got his rematch, he was healthy, well rested, hasn't taken hardly any punishment for 3 years, and I'm assuming not dehydrated, and he got KTFO, the fans BS reaction to the first fight has probably been wearing on Wilder, so Deontay got his chance clear up any doubt in those dimwits heads, and took it, that saga is done now, he KO1 Stiverne, so those particular posters have no leg to stand on.

Btw there were two live walkout bouts at Barclays after Wilder vs. Stiverne II wrapped up.

Seanie Monaghan just beat Evert Bravo via UD8.

Is my opinion invalid too because i didn't watch the first fight?

For what it's worth, Wilder worries me with his punching technique.
I'm not sure he can generate much power without wildly swinging.

Stiverne got dropped by a washed up Journey man. Nobody cares what Wilder did, Saint Pierre just won UFC gold after coming back from retirement! That is the stuff of legends!
