I sure hope Wilder is stupid enough to fight Joshua! Joshua will have an easy knockout!!!

I don't care if he does get knocked down - or spark out. I don't care if Fan Man Jr. parasails into the middle of the ring. There is literally nothing that could transpire in a Deontay Wilder fight that will pry my attention from a Sergey Kovalev or Dmitry Bivol fight on a different channel.

    EVER.

    :dunno Are you okay?

I was planning on writing a massive article throwing off on the Heavyweight division, been planning to for days, I think its in horrid shape, skillwise most HW's don't hold a candle to fighters CW and below, I get where you're coming from completely. But I can put all that aside and just enjoy watching two behemoths slug it out and put on a show, its a spectacle, and people love a spectacle. God knows I usually hate big budget blockbusters, but if I gorged myself on low budget indie fare, I'd probably find myself starving to see the next Fast And The Furious sequel after a while. Have some fun man, its not that big of a deal.

Kovalev was on p4p lists in the fairly recent past and Bivol seems poised to debut on them in the very imminent future ...they barely drew a glance, just going by the numbers. The childlike obsession with heavyweights everyone has is all well and fine and cute until it detracts from BETTER fighters in other weight classes, IMO.

Tonight should've been a star-making opportunity for Bivol; instead only a slim minority will have watched his performance live because of the stupid HW fight (and now with foreknowledge of the result they're not going to sit through eleven and a half rounds because everybody's attention spans have been ruined by smartphones and social media)

    Just gets my goat.

No one cares about Bivol, that's the reality, he's been on US TV screens approximately three times, once on a PPV, no one watched, second on ShoBox, which no one watches and most recently..... in the afternoon.... for one round. Not everyone is a bunch of nerds like us.

It annoys me, but since I've spent my whole life listening to bands, watching films, and following fighters, no one gives a **** about, I guess I'm somewhat inured to that feeling.

Hmm, I feel my spirit being evoked. Albeit in slightly disguised, paraphrased form.

Well, as ignominies go, it's not a patch on suggesting that Jeff Horn drops or hurts any version of Carmen Basilio.

I was jaded enough to drop the hammer and vote for Trump and I'm a liberal Left Wing Libertarian Socialist leaning Democrat, and did so with gleeful nihilistic reckless abandon. And I'm still grinning like a Cheshire Cat a year later.:D Yes.... I'm the most jaded cynical man in America.:eusa_dance:

People and their collective tastes suck balls, c'est la vie, no shock here.:ohno It is what it is.

just caught up on the fight. credit has to be given to Wilder now, that was a great win. hurt repeatedly (but never down which answers the chin questions), well down on the scorecards and pulls something like that out. he has scary power and hes got heart in there. yes, his technique is awful, but its the heavyweight division, and he has that equaliser at any moment. great win, and I cant wait to see AJ/Wilder

He should still be on them. I've said it in previous threads, with zero irony, Sergey Kovalev is my P4P #1. I've seen nothing from anyone else that warrants usurping him. What pitiful rookerful of wins on anyone's fav widdle fighter's CV is worth 19 rounds on even terms with (and an arguable victory over) Andre Ward + everything else that Krush has done? They were always the real 1 and 2. And with Ward gone, Kovalev is my default #1 until I see something that tells me otherwise.

I love watching Sergey Kovalev as much as the next guy. But his bout was, indeed, a foregone conclusion. And that's where HD torrents on a Sunday come in. There was more to gain from watching the HW's live, least for me.

Very good fight I thought, thought Ortiz was 2 points up going into the tenth round. Was surprised that Wilder stayed up in the 7th round, looked very close to being stopped. Showed decent toughness and heart in coming through that. Once again his athleticism and power got him through the fight and the uppercut to finish Ortiz off was very good. Wilder deserves credit for his win and finally has a good name on his resume. Ortiz fought very well but I'm not sure where he can go from here.
