    Round 9

Jackson is going for the finish, putting his right hand in, knuckles flat on Nelson's temple. 1-2 by Jackson. Nelson is pushing forward hoping to grab. His balance is awful. Jackson lands a grazing right. Nelson steps back. Nelson on a delayed reaction starts to wobble, more than a couple of seconds after the last punch landed. The ref doesn't like it and waves it off.

    TKO9!!

Damn, I just realized - this means no Anthony Peterson. :blood

Was he originally supposed to be televised, when his opponent was Yakubu Amidu?

Peterson vs. Amidu was a mismatch too but it was more TV worthy than Williams vs. Freeman is.

Yeah I notice that too. I was wondering where he went from the lineup

According to Amidu's camp, Peterson decided to pull out of the fight at the last moment.

...and honestly, while Velázquez has lost a bunch, is a blown up featherweight, and is shot to bits - he was never a bum and is probably still, even on two days' notice, a more formidable opponent than freaking Jamar Freeman. 13-3-2 and has fought nobody. Velázquez meanwhile has been in with some of the absolute best in the world over the last fifteen years. (his career going back over twenty)

Yet it was Peterson that remained on the card with a sub opponent? Weird.

Did they mention why they didn't?

This is just a stupid mismatch, shouldn't be on now. This should have been on the non-televised card and this should've just become a triple-header once Peterson vs. Amidu was canceled.

All this is going to accomplish is ensure that Russell vs. Martin and/or the main event overlap with the Ruiz vs. Liakhovich card.

...unless J-Rock blasts him out in like a minute, but even then we have wasted time on ring walks and everything.

Deer in the headlights. Never been on the big stage. Lost his only three steps-up.
