Heads up, guys - Ruiz vs. Liakhovich is probably about to start on UniMas.

It will probably conflict directly with Russell vs. Martin - which is very likely going the distance.

My recommendation is to switch over and watch the heavyweights (if you care) and risk missing some or all of Russell vs. Martin, and then return to Showtime for the main event. (and maybe some of Russell vs. Martin as "gravy", time permitting)

That said, if anyone cares to watch Russell vs. Martin live instead, please help yourself to handling the RBR call of it here in my stead. :good

I hope he doesn't fight like Christy Martin.

The San Diego kid once seemed on his way to becoming a decent "wild card" sort of fighter - kind of like Mauricio Herrera (not much power or athleticism but really hard-working and well-schooled, able to upset the best guys out there if he caught them on a bad night or exploited an inability to cope with disparate styles) when he scored two big upsets over vaunted up-and-coming punchers in Avalos and Huerta in close proximity... but he went off-rails a few years ago, starting with a loss to a grizzled Mexican super-journeyman. Hasn't been the same since.

Don't go by his last result. Marriaga is actually an under the radar destroyer.

Martin has a good chin and is savvy on defense.

Even with a huge disadvantage in hand speed and talent, I'd be surprised to see him stopped by Russell.

    10-9 Russell, obviously.

I'm now switching over. (Ruiz vs. Liakhovich ring walks are underway)

Me too. Still am, actually. I didn't jump off the bandwagon just because Lomachenko outclassed him.

    Lomachenko is a phenom.
