    People misunderstand what is happening.

When any platform, be it HBO or Showtime or FOX, contracts exclusively w/ PBC or Top Rank or GBP they almost always have annual budget. That means that Haymon, Oscar, and Arum can pay their fighters flat rates (for example, purses) and PPV income or sponsorships wouod be extra. And this is a BAD thing for FANS.

Why is it a BAD thing? Because the extra money allows fighters to take repeated soft touches (Thurman, Tank, Danny, Wilder, and basically all of PBC). When fighters aren't simply given 7 figure paydays to fight Barrios or Redkach or Granados or Collazo...they have to earn it. Trouble is nobody is paying PPV to see ANY of those fights (well @ellerbe and @Olu G. Rotimi would) which forces fighters to take fights fans want to see instead if they want those 7-8 figure paydays.

This is GREAT NEWS for fans !!

Aslong as PBC goes away. Boxing will be fine, and even have the chance to resurge.

Unfortunately, Haymon will likely hang around, with the numerous fighters he has under contract and slide into another network deal and sink that platform also, along with boxing, down even further.

This is terrible because Showtime is the last of the premium broadcasters in terms of production values. ESPN is fair and DAZN is awful.

Boxing is devolving into a regional sport where the occasional big fight will happen.

This is awful, first HBO, now showtime? They also stopped all the boxing magazines, the Ring is only digital. What is next, ESPN, FOX? this just sucks.
