If Santa Cruz doesn't stop him then the Spurs will topple the Thunder

40-36. Kinda feel bad about this, because Vusi is competitive and landing his fair share. But Santa Cruz is a bit better and landing more than his fair share in each round.

    Good, good stuff. :happy

Another off the mark comparison, IMO. Sorry.

Much harder hitter, and more technical.

Diaz was much more aggressive, a true (feather-fisted) volume swarmer.

Santa Cruz is on ****in point with snaking that left hook and looping overhand right around Malinga's guard.

I haven't been this impressed with watching a young fighter like SC in a long time. First time I ever seen him fight.

    Round 5

Santa Cruz is landing jabs upstairs and hooking the body as Mulinga tries to slap a right hook into his face but finds him recoiling behind his turtle shell. Santa Cruz is jabbing, covering up when Malinga starts to toss the right jab in time with him, and then popping right hands. Malinga is throwing his shots correctly and isn't all that much slower than Santa Cruz, he's just facing a deficit in the areas of crispness and timing. Also foot positioning.

    50-45 Santa Cruz

Yeah, I suppose. BUt far more accurate than Margo IMO. I;m just looking at the volume aspect. He's not punching with marshmallows, but he doesn't seem to have big power either.

I'm just waxing poetic on BB's early days.

    Round 5

Hard right hand to the head from Cruz. Malinga trying to press the action but he simply can't. Malinga walking into hard left and right hand blows. Hard right to the body of Cruz then a right up stairs. Another right to the head of Malinga. Lead rights from Cruz, and Malinga is still pushing the act but is simply not effective.

    50 - 45 Santa cruz

The amateur they just showed mentioned the 'All American Heavyweights'. There's another group who are trying to find the next American heavyweight champion too, isn't there? I can't remember the name of it.

    Good to see anyway.

    Malinga 51 of 200, 26%
    Santa Cruz 134 of 354, 38%

    Round 6

Hooks and jabs by Santa Cruz. BIG long volley to the face by Santa Cruz, running his fists over Mulinga's face like paint-rollers before the Zulu can get his hands up. Mulinga keeps coming forward and getting hooked in the body. Santa Cruz gets the left jab up on Mulinga's brow as he comes lunging in with right jabs and overhand lefts. Santa Cruz is blocking and stepping around all of Mulinga's jabs. Snappy busy jab by Santa Cruz, missing about half but landing more than Mulinga.

    60-54 Santa Cruz
