Diaz came on too late imo.. I think we may get a draw here.

A good jab disrupts speed though. The times he jabbed, he seemed to disrupt what Russell was trying to do. Diaz fought a fairly dumb fight. He overwhelmed Russell Jr, when he was attacking that body and letting his hands go, but he only did it for like three rounds all fight. Russell Jr. outworked him the rest of the way.

 

The judges did good here. Solid cards.

 

While I had Russell comfortably ahead on my card, I thought he got away with a couple of shots underneath Diaz's belt. Somehow, the referee seemed to put his attention on Diaz and kept needlessly admonishing him about breaking faster and not holding or whatever.

 

Decent win for Russell.

Hopefully he gets the LSC-Mares winner

 

Valdez, LSC, and Frampton have a wayyyyy better shot against GRJ than I thought. Either that or Jojo is way better than I thought. Props to him though, he did really well going to the body.

 

Dammit. I was positive I was gonna make bank on the draw as soon as this fight was signed.

 

I would have no problem with a rematch if there wasn't so many other options for Russell out there.

 

Had Jo Jo took the risk of using that jab as he went inside he clearly would of or could have won this fight. He just got educated by GRJ IMO
