So one of the hold ups of the fight was the Showtime-HBO negotiations. Mayweather had an exclusive deal with Showtime and he left HBO several years ago since he was fed up with them.

So one of the main points of contention was that Mayweather did not want Jim Lampley calling the fight. I also don't blame him as HBO is much more notorious for calling the fight for their brand fighter and skewing the opinion of casual fans. To be fair the Showtime crew does this as well, but not as often or blatant in recent years.

The announcing team will be Jim Lampley, Roy Jones Jr., and Al Berstein. Max Kellerman and Jim Gray will work the respective corners, whatever that means.

So how do you think the announcing will play out? Will there be favoritism or bias towards one fighter? In my opinion the announcing team appears to be skewed in HBO's favor. However there could be overcompensation with the judging team which I know nothing about at this point in time.

Jim lampley has a severe bias towards mayweather and it only got worse once mayweather left hbo. Roy calls it straight for the most part and steps in to correct Jim on occasion. Al I don't have any issues with him as he calls it straight.

Between Jim's ''boom boom boom" and Roy's "he's a sly old coo" Al could come off as the boring one and not get much word in.

    :deal

In all the years I've been listening to Roy color commentate I can't recall an instance where I thought he showed any favoritism. Bernstein and Mallinaggi, IMO, are the best boxing ****ysts on the airwaves. IMO, if Lampley goes off into left field, Bernstein and Roy will reel him back in.

    My $0.02...

Not a single one of them has anything of value to say except Roy. Like always, I will try my best to tune them out or watch the fight in a language I do not understand.

When Lamp went on a rant about Floyd and he himself was in a domestic dispute, that made him a supreme hypocrite. I hope Floyd ****s on him at the fighter meeting lol...

Could care less about who's announcing this fight, casual fans are the only people who care about that ****. I wish some of these announcing crews would just shut up once in awhile instead of talking the entire round.

I know it did, but the HBO brass told me otherwise! It's a Keystone moment in my career to announce fights un objectively!
