Charlo is missing everything he throws with the left hand - Adams stepping away from his jab to make it fall short, and ducking the hook. Straight rights are no good either. The only reliable shot for Charlo is the uppercut, and he can only lay it on Adams when they stand at mid-range or closer. Adams is jabbing into the guard, ducking, whip-lashing his upper body inside and trying to bisect Charlo's guard with a yo-yo left uppercut. Charlo is throwing very sloppy power flurries at Adams on the way in and out.

Charlo is throwing jabs and uppercuts from outside, missing, Adams baiting him with a step halfway inside but then ducking away behind a crossed-arm shield. Adams making Charlo lunge and, as Paulie Malignaggi points out, hurt his hands by slamming his knuckles repeatedly into Adams' crown, with more shots landing on the hard point of his skull than anywhere actually counted for scoring purposes. Adams is now jabbing his way in, prodding Charlo nearly into the ropes, just barely missing a soaring right cross as Charlo falls away to his left. Ref warns Adams for straying a bit low with a body shot. Adams is circling to his right, baiting Charlo, dodging his 1-2, fishing with the long dangling left jab. Charlo tries pouncing on Adams in the corner as the crowd screams for a big finish. All sound and fury. Nothing gets through for Charlo. Adams dancing around him, lots of head-fakes. Adams now pressures, making Charlo dances into the ropes, arms behind his back, mugging.
